Hmm no Google home integration only Apple?

    • +5

All Xiaomi products work with Google, the Mi home app connects to it.

      • thanks for that im amazed they dont mention it in the eBay ad?

Can't argue with the price difference ($1.65!) but I would rather buy from someone who has 100% positive feedback, easy to deal with if problem arise later on..But Hey this is OzBargain!!

      • +2

yep, a ridiculous neg given the other store has 100+ neg feedback in last 12 mths

That seller is located in China so it's a small saving for overseas stock. Especially since the seller in OP's deal is Xiaomi Australia.

      • Item location shows New South Wales, Australia?

        • Check seller's profile and the negs for not being local

        • I say it everytime and post it every year. You have to check the seller profile because they can put any location they like on a listing but the eBay profile shows what country it was registered in.

@Clear: I'm well aware of how some sellers operate on eBay, especially international, but I'm not sure what the country a store was originally registered in has to do with anything, as they can simply have drop-shipped products in Australia, yet still operate from a different country.

            • +1

@magic8ballgag: The seller isn't located in Australia so why pay a very small amount for something that isn't? Especially given that you're guaranteed a warranty from this seller as they're the official Xiaomi.

              • -1

@Clear: I'm not advising anyone to purchase anything in particular, but you're assuming the products they are selling aren't located here because the store itself was registered outside of Australia.

                • +1

@magic8ballgag: That is correct as it's a common tactic, but it's also possible for them to take advantage of the Auspost China agreement to have a "virtual Australian warehouse" where it's shipped to Australia very quickly to depots run by UBI or DPEX then forwarded onwards by Auspost.

                  Or dropshipping as you say.

              • @Clear: This seller is not official Xiaomi either. They are a company called Panmi, just another reseller trying to fool people.

I have a pair of the bedside lamps and one of the desk lamps. They are both WiFi connected and work very well. Good price for the desk lamp. The bedside can be had for a few dollars cheaper ($59.46) with coupon PLUSAUG15 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Colorful-Bedside-Light-La…

  • The desk lamp is the older version right?

    • that is the newer model

  • I have the older model with the wifi/bluetooth and metal base, and they been great, no issues at all. So would expect that these should be up to same quality

  • Can these pair paired together, so two units would turn on, dim, change colour etc. in sync with one another?

    • I had a look at the Mi Home App and it doesn't look like it. Using Homekit, you could configure automation rules so if one turns on/off the other will also turn on/off.

    • You can set an identical schedule so that both turn off/on at the same time, and you should be able to control their dimming via a room in Google Home, although I don't believe there's any way to synchronize their colours.

    • I have these and got it working by creating a group on my iphone home app then refering to the group to turn on and off.

  • For the bedside lamp do I have to set the region to Chinese Mainland in the Mi Home app like previous Xiaomi products?

And does it come with an AU plug?

  • Amazon how much more expensive these are outside China

I bought these from the Xiaomi storefront (their version of an apple store) in China for $24 each. That was full retail

  • +1

I bought 4 of these from this deal even though they were $4.50 more expensive than the other deal (the 100% positive feedback got me).
Glad I did - they arrived this arvo - these ones came with an Australian Plug pack.
This is the second lot I've ordered, the other ones I ordered from another ebay "Australian" vendor, obviously came straight from AliExpress with the US style plug pack and really bad adapters 2 of which crumbled apart.

So thumbs up for this "mi_official_store" ebay store.

And yes these do work with Google Home, but you do need to set them up first using the China based app. Once setup I delete that App and account and Google takes over.
