    What kind of battery?

    • 2 x CR2032

      • +3

Thanks I will pass this BS… I miss the old xiaomi temperature sensor.

      • Thanks for confirmation, Bugger, don't like the CR… would have been good with a AAA (have so many of those things)

    • +7

I really prefer aa or AAA for these sort of devices.
The other Xiaomi thermometers I have chew batteries, probably 3 or 4 cr2032 a year.

      • +3

Not sure which ones you have. There's custom firmware for some Xiaomi thermometers that improves battery life. I'm guessing I get at least 9 months from a battery, probably more, I have 5 of them and battery changes are uncommon.

        • I think I have around 1 year without custom firmware

        • I have a few of the little ones which also send out via Bluetooth. I keep meaning to try the different firmware to turn that off. Thanks for the reminder.

      • I really prefer aa or AAA for these sort of devices.

Is there any available these days?

  • OP, is there anything available like this but with a remote thermometer module (or modules) that can be placed outdoors?

Ideally this would also provide Bluetooth or network connectivity to a phone app - but this is only a secondary requirement.

    • This

I bought for $48 in Feb. Can set limits and alarms. I use in outdoor freezers in case they die and my food spoils.
      App is good

  • Thanks OP. I ordered one. I have surplus batteries from AirTags so battery types comes in handy

    • Hi, the Humidity Meter comes with battery :)

banggood… A wasted opportunity to sell novelty adult entertainment.

I'm pretty sure they sell that stuff too :)

Well at least the supply the temperature humidity meter for when things get a little too hot & steamy

    • That’s via their sub-domain

      letme.banggood.com

To be fair, the chances of getting screwed when buying from this site are pretty high

      • haha. judging by your username, sounds like you have experience.

  • I was hoping they could incorporate more info. what does that smiley face indicate?

    • +1

Seeing the photos in reviews, looks like when it’s hot, it becomes a sad face.

moreover, 2xCR2032 is not environment friendly. shoud at least add USB-C charging. it is a no-NO for me ;-(

      • +5

So it’s environment friendly to chuck out a device when non-removable battery gives up?

  • These look like standalone devices, no Xiaomi app connectivity

    • +2

      that’s a goood thing

      • why's that?

A connected hygrometer allows me to turn on/off the dehumidifier or humidifier as needed during the day.

    • It's not even a Xiaomi product.

  • The battery cover looks very easy to remove, especially for kids. This introduces a risk of battery ingestion, since it uses a CR2032 battery.
