This Google Home Mini mount is back on sale again and this time at a lower price than before. It's also the second generation designed for AU plugs.

These are good for mounting your Google Home Mini on the wall or wherever else you have a power point. They reduce the cable mess and both holders connect to each other via magnets. I personally use a few mounted in the bedroom and behind the TV.

These are good, but unfortunately they don't solve my issue with Google home, the absolutely behemoth size of their wall plugs which take up 1.5x the size allocated on a socket.

Just buy a micro-b cable (old android phone cable) and connect to an upright USB power socket(e.g. apple chargers

      • Thanks I just got a google home mini today and was shocked by the size of the plug haha

      • Good tip! I made the incorrect assumption that it had to be charged using the charger that came with the mini.

        • You can even power if from a power bank if you want to make it portable.

        • As long as the output matches? Eg the mini needs 2A but the standard iPhone plug is 1A (5W). The iPad ones should be fine though (10W).

          • @pifts: Only have iPad so don’t know about iPhones

No good. Pokes out too far from the wall, uses weak magnetic mounting, and the silicone cable cover is messy. 3/10

Keep thinking Clear is JV at first glance at the DP

I've got one and it sucks for the mentioned reasons above..

jv is certainly looking jolly these days

  • $14.24? That's $14.24 more than what I paid for my multiple Google Home Minis

    • You really think it should be free?

It was a joke that Google keep giving out these Minis, and now I'm spending more on their accessories than I ever spent on their products

        • You never know with some people here ;)

        • Damn I have to be a better Ozbargainer and try to get another Home Mini (or two) as a freebie

There is some good designs here (https://www.thingiverse.com/tag:Google_Home_Mini) that have a clip rather than a magnet, if you know someone with a 3d printer.

    • From what I read these are mainly for US/UK models and the sizing is slightly different for the adapters so 3rd printed ones need modification.
Has anyone printed a good one for AU adapter?

      • This one looks pretty sharp: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3626834

If you don't have access to a 3d printer, check with your local library (probably the main one in your council/shire), quite a few have 3d printers where you just pay for the filament you use. This would use barely any.

  • Thanks, got a couple.

Same bad experiences as above. Bought 4 in previous deal. Magnets weak to the point where the units just won't stay fixed. Can upgrade the magnets, but some of the 3d printing options have a much better design. Save your money.

      • DJ’s stock check system is broken. So it may end in disappointment.
Previous deal was the same deal apparently.

  • i got it. thank you

I bought two of these and I'm not having any of the issues people are describing above. The rubber looks good, the magnet is strong, it doesn't poke out too far from the socket and everything tucks away neatly. Good buy.
