Kaihua Kailh Speed Pink Mechanical Keyboard Switches US $41.25 (~AU $60.75) for 110/US $34.25 (~AU $50.45) for 70 Shipped @ Drop

Probably not a deal for everyone but I suppose you could upgrade your Kogan keyboard with some cool new switches for less than a full 'board. Kaihua has released something like 8 new switch designs recently, and the Pink series are the latest in their 'Speed' range which have shorter total travel and actuation points. The official specs are:

  • Tactile 50 grams (1.1 mm +/- 0.3 mm pre-travel, click bar)
  • Cherry MX-compatible stems
  • Plate mounted
  • Compatible with surface mounted/through-hole LEDs
  • 3.5 mm travel
  • 70 million lifetime click rating

I wasn't able to find anyone else with these even in stock but based on the other 'Speed' switches (Copper, Bronze, Gold, etc) the price for this drop is a bit less than most others. The linked page also has a video demonstrating several various Kaihua switches.

Estimated ship date is Oct 4, 2019.

Might want to add that as with Drop (formerly Massdrop) deals, the majority are preorders. Orders arrive 1-2 weeks after shipping although delays to shipping date is quite common.

  • I'm looking to build a new keyboard soon. What are the other resources where I can start building one? Is it only aliexpress?

I would spend some time on https://old.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/
People like to talk about how they built them and where they sourced components. There are some very nice keyboards that you can draw inspiration from.
