  • Thanks OP, was looking for something just like this for my son’s kinder.
Perfect for them (having wifi and Bluetooth means they don’t need a PC to get the pictures)

(having wifi and Bluetooth means they don’t need a PC to get the pictures)

So how do they put the pictures in the kids folios without a PC ?

    • I bought the same camera for my 8 year old son. It got moisture trapped behind lens after 10 minutes snorkeling test… $250 in the bin.

  • Does it or any cheap waterproof camera shoot RAW stills?

There are a few, but honestly if your shooting on one of these RAW isn't THAT much better in my experience.

Olympus TG-5 is the one that comes to mind, but the Nikon W300 is pretty good too. As for cheap, probably not.

      • In defence of small sensors, I can notice a difference in detail (other than the usual dynamic range / post editing exposure) when shooting RAW on iPhone SE (using free version of Lightroom app).
Of course it all depends on the sensor and I guess you have to try RAW on a particular small sensor before you can be sure there is enough of a difference, to justify buying a particular camera.

        • Worth noting the default camera on smart-phones does a lot of post processing and compression, so this may be the reason for poor detail in regular photos.
