It's 2.6kg with the battery - too heavy for a 13.3" portable notebook.

    • exactly what I was thinking. There are 15.6" laptops lighter than this.

      • Ouch that is beefy. I was excited until I read this comment.

    • Ouch. Nice pick up. I wonder what did Acer pack in there to make this 13" that heavy.

hmm good deal price wise, but too heavy for a form factor which people generally choose for portability (13.3").

additionally im quite displeased with these guys. have been supporting them for years since they were a tiny upstart at their old warehouse, and between the family have bought lots and i mean $thousands of stuff with them. but ever since the move to the new place service has been down the gurgler. in particular, emailed them to pricebeat a monitor that I was keen on and received a reply back stating that they would only pricematch plus charge shipping, despite me requesting pickup and the competitor also offering pickup. on top of that the difference wasn't even that much so not like they were losing money on the sale. i emailed them at least 4 times to seek clarification on the wording of their policy but they simply ignored subsequent emails.

anyway to sum up they wouldnt honour their own pricebeat policy and force charged shipping on top to basically cover the difference, and then ignored all further emails. disappointing.

pricebeat policy here for those that are interested: http://www.oo.com.au/help-centre/products/low-price-guarante…

  • I can't make up my mind about this. It's towards the max of my price range, it's i5 2nd gen, dedicated graphics, good screen size, 4gb ram, … I want it for around the house, (dont want a desktop) powerful enough to watch a DVD smoothly, browse the Internet, play some games (not hardcore gaming). My netbook just died, and that couldn't handle YouTube so am looking for something like this.
I havnt been able to find any reviews on this laptop, which is strange.

    • The Lenovo E520 is a good option, and it's cheaper than the Acer. It's a 15.6" though, so that might not be what you want.
