Yes, you can shit & shower without getting up.

The ideal accessory for some Ozbargainers. Monitor/ laptop attachment possible…

But seriously, after being full time carer for a relative with mobility problems & high risk of falls in bathroom - this type of device was absolutely necessary. I bought the Auquatec chair costing $1200!

      • Are you a carer?

        • Was…

@Yaren24: Hopefully more jobs soon in Aged Care - after the Royal Commission. More RNs are really needed there. They were so good when my relative was forced into care.

@INFIDEL: Thanks Bro, I work in aged care once or twice a week, not bad for a first RN job

                    • @Yaren24: As an AIN, not RN sorry I didn't express properly

        • My mind went to the Seinfeld episode where George and Krmaer bought that cheap Cougar 9000 model and it did not end well!

Just a Cautionary FYI. This type of chair doesn't provide weight bearing foot plates which are essential if the user has enough mobility to lift using feet and arms so that someone can wash under them. You need to specifically ask for weight bearing footplates if the user intends to do so. Weight bearing footplates are usually a single plate that runs forwards and backwards on the 2 rails running between the sides.

Another FYI is my own personal hack where you can use a $2(hollow) pool noodle on any tubing that might require padding on a shower chair. Cut to fit if necessary and run some duct tape around it.
