what is the difference between your for $129.

    • They're selling for 44.85 with included cable

      • All give cable with camera, thats good that the sell for 44.85, but that is only 14.15 down not 84.15 down. this is a marketing trick to show customer that it is down huge.

        • JB Hifi is not including an extension video/power cable in the listing as far as I can tell. Yes, never trust RRP.

          Hi there Rav,

The CMOS-130 doesn't come included with a reverse lead cable as standard, both other sellers and JB HI FI do not include the cable.

          Have a great weekend.

    • Hi there Rav,

The product RRP is $129 which is camera alone.

Our deal is $44.85 camera and cable.

      • RRP is bullshit .,, everyone is aware of that..
ok what is your price excluding the cable??

& does this work only with Kenwood head units ??

        • +1

Bottom line, this works with any head unit and is $59 at its lowest anywhere else currently

  • Does this have the reverse lines guide?

    • +1

      Hi There,

The CMOS-130 does not have integrated reverse lines. Most 2017 and above aftermarket radios have this feature inbuilt.

  • They often come free with the purchase of a headunit don't they?

    • Yep got mine free with head unit

    • Some retailers may bundle them in, however, will not separate the product from the bundle.

      Kind Regards

      • +1

So you're saying its a freebie that doesn't have value otherwise and nobody sells it and hence doesn't have a price; because it only works with that particular headunit(s).

It sounds like you're throwing something in that is always thrown in and have a misleading rrp in title, you might be the cheapest around but those are some shady business practices.

        • This is currently available at multiple retailers for between $59 and $89. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/gps-car-audio/kenwood/kenwood-cmos…

        • +1

The product is a universal product which can be fitted on most aftermarket units not specific for Kenwood.

In terms of the product whether a seller decides to bundle it into a deal is their choice. It's not shady business.

The RRP is not misleading which is evident through all the other sellers online for this product as well as instore.

          Have a great weekend.

          • +1

@strathfieldbrookvale: I have your back here, but we all do need to agree that RRP is misleading, especially when no one, or almost no one is selling at RRP.

  • +1

Picked one up to replace a cheap aftermarket one with poor image quality on my rav4. Thanks OP.

  • How much the cable alone cost?

    • +1

$15 RRP the going price online is $9.99 for the cable alone

    • +1

Could likely be found online for a couple dollars without too much trouble.

      • lol. So the camera at JB is $19, add $9.99 for the cable and it's $29 all up?

  • +1

In the pictures it only shows the camera video + reverse indicator cables. Is the power cable included but not shown?

    • It looks like a video feed and the blue wire is to run power.

      • +1

Blue wire is the reverse signal to the head unit, normally tapped to the reverse light wire at the back of the car. Yellow rca is the video wire from camera to head unit, hard to tell if it's also got power wires from the pic.

There's also a short red/black power wire coming off the camera and a yellow female rca socket which are not shown in the pics.

Seems kind of a lot for a low-res analog camera, when the components cost so little. Very old tech.
The cable is the most expensive part, but still under $10 on ebay etc.
They don't specify much, so I assume you are just paying for the Kenwood label, and local distributor markups. No?
Its just cmos, like all the other cheap cameras.

Is it really that hard to find a decent low-res analog camera?

  • Specs are a bit vague. Best I can find is "NTSC Video Signal Out (RCA)". So it's going to be composite 480i. Same as old analog TV essentially. It's not going to give you any decent picture. Fine for reverse, but probably no good for getting plate numbers at any distance.

  • Grab any similar unit from eBay for like $15 will do the same job

  • +2

Holy crap the comments section is ridiculous.

OP posts a genuine bargain and people are just eating him alive.

Yes you can get a "similar" item from ebay for cheaper but it's not this item is it?

Why would anyone buy a $5 KFC chip bucket when you might as well eat a bag of bread. Both will fill you up.

Ok .. purchased 2.. let see how we go…
