This has to be a price error.

    • +2

the question is will they honor it…

    • +6

No - I just spoke to them about getting a quote for some work on a laptop and the support rep offered this to me "That's a $1500 discount"

      • +12

Support rep probably has no idea about price errors and is just relaying what you can see for yourself

        • I'd imagine if they went to the effort to tell their support rep about it, it's deliberate. It should have passed through enough heads by then.

          • @NRoach44: Someone else said they spoke to chat and confirmed it was price error so who knows lol.

      • If anyone remembers the last time HP store had an issue, you wont get it. It was like pulling teeth just to get anything, but in the end I got them to substitute with another laptop

    • They are sticking with SOLD OUT, NO RAINCHECKS.

  • -1

    normal price 2k,
    wow….

    • +56

      @499….don't think you need review

  • +13

Pricing error, just signing up to have your money in limbo for a week.

  • Delted

  • +3

    https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Offer.aspx?p…

Looks like they have other laptops up to $1800 off as well

  • Dont think so, even the codes represent the amount off

    • -1

Or it could represent the price it meant to be lol.

      • +2

Nah it says Save $1500 and

        save $1500
        CODE : BLITZ1500
        AUG PRICE BLITZ
Use e-coupon code BLITZ1500 to get $1500 off this product.

Can't possibly mean the price is supposed to be $1,500

The only contention is whether the starting point (price) is a mistake or not…

  • +16

Thanks just got two and used Amex cashback taking another 150 off…

    • -4

      I have a 2nd Amex registered… really don't need 4….

  • +2

Thanks got one but didn't need it. Too cheap to resist

    • I’d buy it off you for 600

    • -1

Any chance you'd be willing to offsell if you don't need it? Provided you receive it of course!

  • +6

Now I wait a week to get my money back since this is just an error :p
Oh well though. Maybe we hit the lottery and the price error actually gets honoured, but from my experience 99.5% don't get honoured.

    • +11

mate, there is a coupon code there saving you 1500

    • +2

      Yeah, youuuuuu

      • Crank dat soulja boy

  • +1

Hopefully they'll include a hp mouse pad as compensation.
My old one is wearing out

    • At this price, buy two. Mousepad problem solved.

    • Damn. Well it was worth trying :/
Also what the guy below me said

    • +34

Great job drawing attention to it.

      • Great if I can still keep $150 Amex.

        • +2

  • +1

I've ordered one for the hellva it. Order went through without a bother. I suspect this price is NOT an error; just one of those annual WTF purchases.

    • +1

      Thanks OP. +1500 ;-)

  • +3

"Next business day delivery" I guess if it wasn't posted on OB you would be enjoying a bargain of a laptop, now that they are aware they will not honor this, of course not

  • Wow what a price!!! Thanks purchased one been wanting a Decent laptop for a while now :D
Wonder if I can ghetto swap out to 6 core CPU in future..

  • +3

I don't need at all, but pulled the trigger. I will even endeavour to install a game on it.

    • -1

Any chance you'd be willing to offsell if you don't need it? Provided you receive it of course!

    • +1

A "glitch" that a code named "Blitz1500" gives a discount of $1500… What a coincidence that is.

      • +3

they could have just added an extra 0 by mistake
never underestimate the basic mistakes an unmotivated worker can make

    • +37

1st rule of price error: don’t contact the company and ask if it’s a price error

2nd Rule: don’t neg deal everyone’s well aware & in for .000000000001% chance

      • +5

3rd rule: don't post on OzBargain, what they don't know won't affect them, and they would probably have honored 1 or 2 purchases

        • +4

No wrong, OP probably had 50/50 chance of getting it, once it hit ozbargain his chance went down to 0.000000000000000000000000000001% lol

          • +1

@RogueWolf: I would only have shared after tracking said it had been scanned at a facility :P

            • @DarthPyro: Nah,, Amazon managed to get it back even after reaching my post office,,,

              • @chutibuti: If it reached your LPO you missed delivery no?

      • +8

2nd rule of ozbargain club: we do not talk about pricing errors.

      • This! Who is stupid enough to ask, I don't understand.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one even don't need it at all. Too cheap to say no.

    • -3

Any chance you'd be willing to offsell if you don't need it? Provided you receive it of course!

  • +2

Item has no inventory. Can't be added to the basket. I'd say it's ozbargain'd.

  • Thanks Ordered. Let's see how it goes.:)

  • +1

purchased! Dont need it, fingers crossed

  • says not in stock now

  • +2

  • all gone, its be OzB'ed

  • No inventory.

1379 people have purchased this product today.

  • Currently out of stock. There's about to be a whole heap of people either really happy or really annoyed.

    • Has a price error of this magnitude ever been honored?

      • +3

Not sure of this magnitude, but there was a pricing error with some headphones (either Bose or Sony) where the owner was fully aware of the profits he was gonna lose on fulfilling them, but still did. Top guy

      • no they have other laptops that are $1,800 off as well and others $1,200.

  • +2

Currently out of stock 🙄 I never catch any of those price errors

  • +2

best of luck to all who ordered.

  • Ordered it for shits and giggs - very curious to see what's going to happen with it. I expect it's price error but we'll seeeee

  • Out of Stock just now
    :(

  • +5

Actually, the code is "BLITZ1500" indicating $1500 off, maybe this is legit, would be a crazy price if so

    • Yep, I noticed that too.

    • +1

Maybe the laptop was supposed to come down to $1500, not take $1500 off, but whoever implements the discount codes misinterpreted the intention. $1500 would be a fair deal on those specs. Other codes on the website are like "blitz100" so 1500 is way out of line.

It's weird though… maybe it really is stock clearance. If you search for HP Omens on their website like 5 different models are showing a $1000+ discount. All out of stock now but perhaps has been disabled on their end while they investigate. Would be unusual for so many models to have a pricing mistake.

      • Doubt it as there are other coupons such as BLITZ50 and BLITZ100 on high prices items which take off only $50 and $100 etc
