    $26 for 8 batteries?

    • +1

      Low self discharge rechargeable batteries.

      • +22

        8 eneloops! not batteries

        • +10

8 Botanic eneloops to be precise

          • +3

@CyberMurning: I demand a summarised comparison between standard Panasonic eneloops and these botanic series edition eneloops.

            • +8

@hey aj: These ones are prettier. You’ll get a small thrill of pleasure every time you idly remove your battery cover when fidgeting with your device.

              They’re also made in Japan.

              • +4

@[Deactivated]: So you're telling me they are literally the exact same battery as the normal version but a different color? Why on earth would I spend the money on… wait are these LIMITED EDITIONS!?

            • +4

@hey aj: These will look more like forest when they don't degrade as poisonous landfill!

              • @[Deactivated]: Stop throwing rechargeable batteries into landfill.

                • @Micksy: Relax. Mine stand out because they are hi vis glitter!

    • +3

      You must be new here.

      • I got alot more eneloopes for less then that, unless they getting more expensive

  • +2

How do Eneloops compare with Ikea version and Aldi version?

    • +1

AFAIK according to tests the IKEA ones are Eneloop pros. Higher capacity but less recharges. No idea about these ones, I guess made in Japan might be a plus over the China ones

      • It's a shame they increased in price, still reasonable value for money however.

        • Shit! Lucky I bought a few extra packs when they were 9 bucks.

    • +1

Aren't the IKEA ones rebranded Eneloops?

    • +1

And the Aldi ones are bad.

    • +1

Did some research, found that the old Aldi ones were great but the new "lower capacity" one are crap
Ikea ones are good (identical to eneloop pro) but they raised price to $14.99/4 batteries

    • +3

I can use Eneloops to power a 1/18th scale dual-electric-motor monster truck that our dog loves to bark at and chase around the loungeroom and up and down the hallway using a 4xAA battery carrier instead of a Li-Ion battery pack. If I try that with Aldi NiMH batteries the truck craps out with an ESC low-voltage indicator almost immediately.

In other words Aldi NiMH batteries are not nearly as robust as Eneloops when it comes to high-drain applications. That might not matter to everyone but it speaks to their quality in my opinion.

  • +6

Don't do it guys. Don't. Calm them nerves….it's only pretty colours, Ikea batteries is the same. Be strong.

    • +2

Ikea LADDA batteries are $15 a 4 pack! So as long as you have Ebay plus, the Japanese eneloops are a great deal.

      • Especially with BLUE5.

        $22 for eight Eneloops.

        • Blue5 didn't work for me. What's the go with that?

      • But brooo, the Ladda batteries are 2450 MAH, same as Eneloop pro.

    • +3

Yeah, but IKEA is a four hour drive from here.

      • +1

        Move

        • +1

IKEA stores are too big to move.

  • +3

“[eBay Plus]” should be added at beginning of title. $15 delivery cost kills deal for standard eBay accounts.

Same 8x Botanic AA Eneloop for standard eBay account cheaper here @ $31.99 Delivered.

  • Yoink!

  • +2

blue5 does not work for me

    • Neither for me.

    • Nor I

EDIT: Bought anyhow. So nice to have colour coded pairs for game controllers.

  • +7

    I decided against buying these.

My only used would be in my speedlights which would perform better with my Ikea's.

    EDIT:

Never mind I bought them …

OzBargain: "You want this, don't you? The FOMO is swelling in you now. Take your credit card. Use it. I am unarmed. Strike a bargain with it! Give into your FOMO! With each passing moment, you make yourself more my servant."

      Yanoflies: "No."

OzBargain: "It is unavoidable. It is your destiny. You, like your eneloops, are now…mine."

  • +1

Nice, bought to add to my collection of unopened Eneloops

  • After many years trawling these forums, I am proud to say that I am an owner of some Panasonic Eneloops.
Luckily was a targeted member for the 'BLUE5' discount, $22 for 8x 1900mAh is a steal.
Considered the Pros for the higher capacity, but faster degradation and 4-pack for $19.95.. nah

  • No way, my Eneloops are still going strong!

  • There will come a day when Enelooops become a new defacto currency like Bitcoin. At least among the OzBargain community.

  • +2

I am a simple man. I see Eneloop, I upvote

  • +2

Whenever I need Eneloops, I open a random draw at home and there they are. Most have old Dick Smith stickers on them LOL

  • +1

What? Eneloop post on OzBargain? Out of stock already?

  • +1

People still going crazy for these? Turnigy 2550mah batteries are like 2 bucks a pop when on sale

    • Turnigys are just batteries though

      • Eneloops are a lifestyle.

      • consider it like bitcoin

    • $2 per cell may be cheap but postage kills the deal unless you buy bulk. Shipping by eParcel is $8.20

      • They actually send me by plane C5 prepaid envelope.
I think it cost around $2.50

But they charged $15 postage for non plus member.

  • Chicks prefer guys with green batteries

  • perfect for one's own Hyperloop?

  • Has anyone been advised that they are getting Eneloop Pro sent to them instead of these because they have run out of stock?

    • Yes I got the same email. Is this meant to be better or not? I heard that they degrade faster.

      • The last time I checked the Pros have recharge cycle of 500 times, compared to 2000 times for the regular ones

    • Me too …

      • Same.

Wonder if they'll be Japanese or Chinese?

        • +1

is this not a bait and switch scenario? Paypal 'item not as described' scenario. I thought they would at least give us an option to cancel the order.

          • @PlushToys: There was an item number in the email I received, made in Japan.

            https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/202748673317

          • @PlushToys: Turns out Pros are only made in Japan.

Still, Pros are worse for low draw uses.

            Not happy.

            • @Micksy: Well. After telling them that I want to cancel, they told me that they will honour the deal. So I guess I am getting the botanic version…

              • +1

@lyoo01: I told them I didn't want Pro's they said too late. Send em back if you don't want them.

                • @Micksy: Wow, differential treatment! I was pretty aggressive though.

                  • @lyoo01: Those idiots gooched up my order and sent me 56 batteries instead of 8 and want me to return them. They will send me a return postage label -_-.
