Good deal
I've been waiting for the HD integrated 32" LCD's to get to around the $700 mark.
Anyone else got any other recommendations for integrated HD 32" units?
Lets hope this is the first of many at this price point. The Aussie dollar has been getting stronger and its about time we saw some better benefits in pricing. Generally one starts the others follow.
My thoughts exactly ozpete…
The hybrid tuner statement gets me … in some of the reviews its a "HD ready TV / monitor". No where do I see it stated that it comes with a HD tuner - could just be an SD one inbuilt.
Someone please correct me if Im wrong.
could be only SD
this is from their product specs
Elegant and stylish design, the Acer 81cm (32”) Widescreen LCD TV provides cinema-like full screen viewing while incorporating awesome audio performance.
The new range from Acer features an Integrated Hybrid-tuner for both Analogue and Digital TV and 2 x HDMI inputs to complete the viewing experience.
All LCD TV’s in the Acer range feature a three year warranty.
So HD ready would imply even though its digital, that its not HD digital
A couple of points:
- Its an Acer
- 1366 X 768 is not Full HD
- Most likely a SD tuner
- Its an Acer.
Hehe. What's wrong with Acer? One of my first computers (a 8088 clone with 640kb RAM and Hercules monochrome video card) was an Acer! The brand was quite good internationally through the 90's and has only been bad over the last 4-5 years as it moved low-end with mass production in China.
I have an Acer desktop bought by my sis. If it were up to me I would not have bought an Acer. Got Dad an Acer 22" Monitor because of the price- came with $29 cashback.
For non-tech savy people Acer is fine. For this price, Acer is fine. Much better than small-name/no-name Chinese brands. For those who know TV's, Acer is not for them.
I'd rather save close to $100 and buy the 28" Viewsonic monitor as its better for gaming but the viewing angle and smaller size may be an issue for some!
From this link, Built-in HD tuner. Built-in hybrid tuner for both analogue and digital TV. So what makes you to think their first statement (built in HD tuner) is not true?.
I just brought one - very pleased so far and it definitely receives all HD free to air channels including things like SBS digital radio and ABC jazz music audio only channel.
If you want more information Google on AT3235B - note the added 'B' which is the full product code number.
Good gear at a VERY good price - many thanks to Rhys!!

Thanks for correcting me Ozzie. In the brochure it definitely read HD but I couldnt confirm from any sites (and I searched a few).

Can anyone post the dimensions of the box this LCD comes in? I am trying to determine if this will fit in my car with the seats folded down.
Thnx
remember you can also get the Acer AT4220 42" LCD models (without digital tuner) in the shops for just below $1000 plus a $149 cash back = ~$850
