I never check newsletters (oops), but today for some reason was different.
If you have received an e-mail newsletter today from Xbox with the title "Keep gaming, [Gamertag]" right at the very bottom there's a section for "You just scored $5!*".
This credit can be used Microsoft Store wide, but comes with an Asterix (asterisk).
