  • I know nothing about boats and motors, but this is cheaper than garden equipment! Is it actually smaller or bigger than handheld garden tools?

    • I think 1/2 size of a petrol whipper snipper.

  • Ebay has for AU $115.00 delivered

So this is approx normal price.

  • 15A is going to need a significant 12V Deep Cycle Battery to run for any length of time. Might add a bit of weight to the kayak…

Wonder if a lightweight 200 watt solar panel at the front would run it all day.

  • Would this go on the tandem kayaks from the recent anaconda deal or is a separate mounting kit needed.

    • I'm in the same boat as well :D

Already thinking about accessorising it, even though I haven't taken it out on the water!

I think that you need a bracket for this which means that it's in the same price range ($150+) as the T24.

      • Yeah me too.need a deal on life jackets.

  • Does anyone know if this would mount on the Aqua Marina Drift Fishing Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board that Anaconda sell?

    • Not sure which mount system they use but most make a T track adapter.

Get an aluminum T track and two mount to T track converter and you'll have a T channel bar to mount the motor against.

You'll also have a T track to mount to rod holders on T tracks, and put two vertical PVC pipes to hold a landing net and and a gaff.

      • Thanks for your detailed reply. I went in and apparently there isn't a T track adapter for this SUP's mount system. I'll have to investigate other options.

        • You can make one. you just need the component that fits into the rod holders (looks like a Scotty or a Railblaza).

I'm surprised there isn't one, maybe the shop assistant is just unfamiliar. Either way, you can make one. They will always make a mount to flat platform. Get two and just get some stainless steel bolts and nylock nuts

Make sure you're using stainless steel and not zinc plated. Rust will make the screw brittle. I would epoxy the rail to the mount if possible but if it is a PE plastic, epoxy does stick so it is purely going to be held bolts. Don't use screws. You need the bolt (well, to be exact, the washer is the contact component) to hold the bar to the mount.

Last option is to get some brass pipe and attach to a wooden plank. The pipe works because you're not worried about rotation. You just need it to sit in both mounting points securely so you'll need to make a cut into the pipes where the mount latches on. Get some marine ply and cut to strips and glue together with waterproof woodglue (Titebond 3 works great).

Now you have a flat bar to mount a whole lot of stuff to.

I use one on my Pro Angler 14. I'm using a T24 now since my 18 died. I'm using a 50AH Li battery and I haven't run out of battery on any single day outting. I estimate 6 hours of full power run time and I haven't needed to use my backup (9ah Li).

Bigger trolling motors do not produce any speed difference. I have tested this.
