G3 is the budget/light version in Dell game laptop line, for whom missed the G5 & wants bit light weight for travel, for $919.20, i5 8300H + GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB GDDR5 looks good.
If you want the G5 still and are happy to add extra insurance, such as the 1 year accidental damage ($69 less 20%), you can still get one by messaging Dell through the G5 link and asking for a custom link including whatever you are adding on. My son just did this.
May I ask how to messaging Dell through Ebay? the "contact sell" took ages to get reply.
They took a while to get back as well, maybe about 30 minutes or so.
And dell will give 20% off to match the eBay deals?

So it turned out my trick didn't work. They were out of stock and sent me a message offering a G3 17" for the same price
Main differences are;
17" instead of 15"
16GB RAM instead of 8
i7 8750H (6-Core, 9MB Cache, up to 4.1GHz w/ Turbo Boost) instead of i5 8300H (Quad-Core, 8MB Cache, up to 4.0GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
256GB SSD = 2TB HDD instead of 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
GTX 1060 6GB video card instead of 1050Ti 4GB
Gotta say I am stoked with Dell.
Funny thing is that they are back in stock, so I'll keep my fingers cross that they follow through with their offer of replacing it with the G3 17".
No the G3 from this deal which I ordered, then they said it was out of stock and offered a free upgrade, and I've just checked to see it's back in stock. So fingers crossed that they keep their offer and send me the better machine.
