Woolworths Weekly Specials 15 June - 21 June

390

A lightweight Woolworths specials list this week with only 83. If you're a germ-a-phobe, Dettol No Touch Hand Wash System is top of the $$ savings charts this week for $9.99 (save $10). Lamb is getting cheaper at $16.99/kg, and a 24 pack of Eveready Super Heavy Duty Batteries AA are 50% off at $7.49. Finish dishwashing tablets hit their usual $20 special mark, and of course, there's a few different varieties of prawns on special. Interesting I was down at the local fishery the other weekend, and prawns that were usually $40/kg were only $20, so quite a bit more than is usually on offer here. Have a great week everyone!

specials get worse every week :(. cost of groceries is so high now, seeing increases every week

    • +2

Agree, it's getting to the point where you have to really stock up when the specials come along on stuff you use regularly, as they seem to take ages to come around again.

      • +2

I pretty much only buy specials and always stock up. If I spot a great price I'll buy months worth of stock (assuming it has a long use by date). I guess Woolworths still likes me as a customer as it keeps sending me 10c fuel voucher specials even with my frugal buying habits.

    • +1

yeah they're all save save save when their prices are only reduced by 7c and most of their specials are buy 6 for $5 save 50c.
      Everything is expensive ;(

lol sometimes at my local store when the manager does local markdowns of some items (and they stick the paper ticket thing), I lift it and the original price is a few cents lower or exactly the same lol. Just hilarious.

        • I think thats actually illegal, isn't it ?

        • I've actually seen it with the markdown more than the advertised price. markdown fail!

      • I bet you Coles and woolies are the ones who really want to rid 5cent coins. BAH

    shop at coles :)

Thanks for the transcription work, as always.

I'm guessing the Sorbent toilet paper are a great saving. I saw every man, women and kid with like handfuls of them as I walked past Woolies today, it was as if they were handing them out for free

    • +1

yeah, i think the toilet paper is a good one… usually specials are at 50c per roll but at approx 38c its pretty good.

Dettol no touch handwash is a con.

With regular pump, you touch the pump before you wash you hands. Then soap is dispensed and you clear you hands, you dont touch pump again, and you hands are clean. So you are paying for something the cleaner is supposed to do.

    • And you touch the dirty tap after washing your hands anyway.. Not to mention the hand towel :)

      • And then the door on the way out

        • And then high five some random dude outside. The germs..now you know why michael jackson wore gloves all the time.

    • They did give it away for free at one point though remember.

    • +3

Your right but my gadget loving mind cant resist having one.. On a side note i don't buy the refills they are so expensive, just drilled a hole in the top and fill it up with the cheap stuff XD

    • +1

Maybe if it dispensed hand sanitising gel we wouldn't have to touch those germ laiden taps! Looking forward to the Dettol plastic bubble and germ free suits next ;-)

      • the only thing anti-bacterial soaps do is breed superbugs

    • +4

My first years have taught me that unless you've just handled a cadaver, just came out of surgey, or played with a virulent culture AND plan on licking your fingers soonafter, there's no need for dettol lol. Soap lyses the nasty domestic microbes fine on its own. :)

I had someone the other day inform me of 'horrific news' - soap ATTRACTS germs!! Now is the time to PANIC!

        Then the thought process started;
        - Turn on tap, rinse hands
        - Grab soap (OMFG GERMS!!)
        - Scrub hands, rinse soap off (OMFG GERMS gone down the plughole!!)
        - Turn tap off (OMFG GERMS FROM TAP!!!)

So now, personally, I'm more worried about the germs on the tap than the soap… I'll remember to thank that person the next time I see them.

        • Obviously the solution is to leave the tap running. :)

        • My youngest definitely follows your path…… :P

        • Wash the tap, then your hands? ;-)

  • Damn… won't be shopping at Woolies this week.

    • why not? prawnssss

    • 99c cat food. Can't wait to stock up! The shredded crab is pretty tasty :P

Toliet paper 42 cents per roll great buy fir sorbet

    • How good is your maths? Try 37.5 cents per roll. Best ever but limit of 4 while stocks last.

  • +1

I only ever buy meat/salad/cakes if it's marked down, get whatever else is on special. It's actually good that way, different food each week. Stock up on food sale items that can be left in the freezer.

  • Aren't the tim tams pretty good?

  • +2

Once again why list only the top 20 specials - items 33% off not listed…

  • Toilet paper was going out like crazy when I went to my local woolies
