Over a week ago, there was a special in COles. pack of 5 for $5. Love the spicy noodles.

    • +5

That the red pack (Shin Ramyun) which is more spicy and regularly $5 when on special.

      • +1

It was on sale for $3, $4, $4.5 over the seven years.

Shin black don't come in 5 packs

sigh i want it, but likely to be faced with an empty shelf by the time i actually can go to my local safeway

    • Yeah the Woolies near me is a smaller one. Odds they run out same day within a few hours tbh

  • +1

wow actual banger of deal for black, i love the richer flavour

  • So balck is more strong favour than the red, no other difference?

    • I personally didn't really notice that much of a difference, didn't see much value over the regular version.

    • +1

find black is a better, tastier flavour than the red. red is is still spicy but not as umami

    • +6

      In a nutshell,
Black has additional beef bone broth seasoning with fried onion flavour, which makes it milder and more savoury than original one
Original one is more of just being original, with beef meat soup and red pepper seasoning with shiitake mushroom.
Red one is intensified flavour version of original one, with bigger garnish and spice packet

    • +1

Black has way more depth of flavour. Well worth it imo.

    • There's an extra packet of non spicy soup base in the black on top of the packet of spicy soup base

  • Showing $12 (QLD)

    • +2

      Starts tomorrow (Wednesday).

      • Sorry I saw the ‘today’ before

  • +1

    It's time boyos

  • +7

black is superior to regular in almost every way, regular red you taste the overwhelming spice and not much else, this has more depth to it

  • Is the spice level lower in black than the red one?

    • +4

      Red - spicier than Black

Black - tastier noodles, flavourful soup (but not as spicy as the Red)

  • Yes

  • Wouldn't necessarily say the Black broth is better, but I do definitely appreciate the bigger pieces of mushroom and veg. Will only buy on special tho

    • +1

Many do find the black version has more depth of flavor. I personally appreciate it. Regular one is just plain spicier for me…

  • Finally.

    Another price hike from woolworth

  • Will give it a try if I can find it. I did notice the single pack was $1.80 on special last week maybe? Should've grabbed a pack to try then.

Produced from farm-fresh produce, premium quality grains and spices.

    "Farm fresh produce"? Questionable…

  • Thanks OP

  • cheers got a few packs. this stuff is delicious

  • Is there plenty of stock around? I might have to give this stuff a try now that they've ruined the old Braised Beef Suimin. What have they done to that? Same name, but tastes nothing like it did 20 years ago when I last tried it. It's horrendous…

    • I actually found heaps on the shelf when I just went tonight. Expected them to be all gone, but was pleasantly surprised
