EVO Plus is the best value if you need speed. EVO Pro is overkill unless you're overwriting the drive multiple times a day for five years, very small performance increase. Here's, the EVO Plus, $121 for 500GB after cashback.
These tend to drop down to ~590MB speeds after about 5gb of data transfer and stay like that for the duration for a 50gb file… It does peak and start off at 1.6GB
Your describing a QLC based drive? e.g Intel 660 or Crucial P1, this uses 3D Toshiba TLC NAND with a Phison E12 controller

Says who? Not Anandtech who thoroughly reviewed it.
In writing over 100GB in one go the drive averaged 732mb/s when empty, and 576mb/s when full. Compared to 970 Evo Plus of 883 and 746mb/s and Intel 660p 711 and 158mb/s this device looks good.

I've been burned by SiliconPower hardware before - had 4 microSD cards from them that all failed in interesting ways.
Yeah their SSD are known to have high failure rate. I have been burned before.
Its one reason I've stayed away from this brand - I have read some bad reviews. That said, given the volume, maybe the percentage though higher than other brands could actually be fine for regular users
Expired anyhow
Friend, it's still got 4 hours left.
no, still in stock
I grabbed a 1TB for $180ish about a month ago, works great as a game drive. Haven't had any issues so far.
Let us know if it fails
when it fails
Reviews 4.5 / 5 on Amazon from 765 customers. It seems it gets 5 stars or 1 stars for its failure.
So when it works it is great, but it looks like it craps out on a few people (1 in 10ish) reviewing it.
so like every other brand
Yeah, I suppose it is. It does look good.
Good value
