Thank god for the imo non-aesthetic orange accents. Would otherwise have been -$1349 :D. Great price!

  • I thought that all Super RTX beat the non super versions?

    • +3

They are yet to release a 2080ti super I believe, so these remain in top place for now.

      • I am not sure if they are releasing 2080Ti super.. Rumors are 2080 super will be slower than the 2080ti.

        • Hardly a rumour, the RTX 2080 Ti has 4352 CUDA cores while the RTX 2080 only has 3072. The performance won't even be close

@jeefbeef: You're posting a lot of misinformation here.

For instance, the 2080 Super - sports 15Gbps of memory bandwidth. More than even the Titan RTX.

Given we are seeing the Super's coming out with less cores than the existing "higher" models, and yet they are producing similar performance to these higher core(d) existing models, I don't think you can conclude that the "performance won't even be close" from what's been released.

The most likely scenario (and consistent with the more reputable rumours) is that the 2080 Super will be only a little (5-10%) slower.

From an Ozbargain perspective, it makes little sense to buy a 2080 Ti right now.

        It's released, called RTX Titan

    • I don't believe there will be a Super version of the RTX 2080 Ti. The "super" versions are generally between the two in performance. So the 2080 Super is better than 2080 and worse than 2080 Ti.

    • Why would an RTX 2080 Super 'beat' an RTX 2080 Ti?

    • Unlikely to be an RTX 2080 Ti super. The 2080 Ti is already single digit percentages within the RTX Titan (which is the full sized Turing chip) so there won't be much room for any super version to go.

Given the 2080 Ti is significantly faster than both the 2080 and upcoming 2080 super, it will probably remain the halo gaming GPU.

Sure they can, unlock the full card and factory OC all clocks, and price it less than than the Titan making it even desirable over the RTX Titan! ☺

    • Nvidia won't chew into the high margins they have on the ti. It'll be better then the 2080 by far, but there's a large gap between the 1080ti and 2080ti that the 2080 "super" would be able to fit in without hurting Nvidia's healthy margin on the ti.

There is no 2080 Ti Super announced yet, however we'll get a 2080 Super in a few weeks. I would not buy a 2080 Ti before seeing the 2080 Super.

    • The 2080 Super is still hampered by only having 3072 CUDA cores (up a measly 4% from 2944 in the normal 2080, vs Ti's huge advantage at 4352) so it will be much much closer in performance to the 2080 than the Ti.

The Ti will remain significantly faster so this deal remains pretty good.

The 2080 Super has other improvements. I can't be bothered to point them out. Wait for the benchmarks, pricing and reviews. Or don't.

  • 2080 Super is designed to slot in between the 2080 and the 2080ti.

This is a good deal if you can handle the aesthetics and cooler design.

      Nope, it replaces the 2080.

      • Performance wise, so for the extra $150 over the $1200 base launch price for the 2080S it's a good deal.

        • You don't think 2080 clearance prices are on the horizon? The 2070 Super will be $200 cheaper than the current 2080 prices on release, and is nipping on the heals of 2080 performance.

    Waiting for 2080 Super Saiyan.

You'll spend more time powering up past 9000 than you will actually using it

  • yeah! get some!

  • I can't be putting this ugly duckling in my sweet rig. Thanks for posting though, it is indeed a good price (relatively speaking)

  • I'll probably be waiting for a card that can do 1440p at 144. That's going to be the sweet spot for me, so gotta have to keep waiting

    • +1

The RTX 2080Ti is arguably the best consumer graphics card available right now and is more than capable of that.

      • Nobody is arguing that the 2080 Ti is not the best card.

      • nope, even the 2080Ti can't pull a steady 144 at 2k in all games.

        • Even then, what are you waiting for? The next generation of NVIDIA graphics cards won't be out for another couple of years.

  • I can't downvote a good deal like this but there are zero 2000 series cards worth buying. I picked up a second hand 1070 for $350 with 2 years warranty remaining. There is no sense in paying four times that for 1.5 times the performance… At best. Nup. Navi is out and prices for everything will drop. Nvidia and Intel have misused their market power in the last 7 to 10 years. They will pay for that now!

Worth is relative. If you enjoy gaming at the highest of quality and performance, a 2080 Ti is about the best you can get.

      • Yeah I get that but money needs to be no object. If you want it and it's not a big expense for you, great! But that's the cost of a flight to anywhere in the world though and in recent years I've gone traveling instead :-)
