I have one of these, and I'm not happy with it. In fact, I stopped buying scanpan altogether. Their non-stick may be metal-resistant, but it is not heat-resistant. We cook a lot at high-heat, which comletely kills off the non-stick. The scanpan pans we have (especially our 28cm frying pan) look a complete mess, with oil permanently glued to it, after half a year of using them. Apparently they are not supposed to be used at high-heat (small work-burner on ordinary stove).

Am in the market for a Gridle pan and was considering this
Am no longer considering this brand :)

        No problem.
Check out their warranty statement: http://www.scanpan.dk/Good%20advice/NonStick
It actually says that overheating is not covered in the warranty (what temperature constitutes overheating?), and they actually say that "high heat is unnecessary".
Some (most) things I cook require high heat… Can you believe that these people tell you that "high heat is unnecessary" for whatever it is you might be cooking?

        • You've shown me the light with Scanpan. I never really questioned the quality of their products, as you always hear how good the stuff is.

    • I agree. I bought the Scanpan wok years ago for $200 after 40% discount from DJ based on Scanpan's commercial about the ability to use metal utensil on their non-stick coating. However, after about 6-8 months they started to develop tiny cracks on the surface and peel a few months later.

  • Tefal Jamie Oliver pans kill scanpan. What happened Scanpan? You're not what you once were.

I've bought my scanpan set 5 years ago for $399, including 3 sets, I used warranty to replace all about 2 years ago, tried to use carefully after that. However, it isn't really good itself as all oil stick etc.

I exchanged 2 of them as scanpan refuse to replace one of them, and paid $5 each for service from the store where I bought. I think it's worth more than what I paid as I've replaced few times, but absolutely not recommending scanpan..

    • I forgot about their 'life-time' warranty so I didn't save up the receipt for that. :(

We were using Scanpan even though there is a lot on the internet saying the non-stick part is not good for you. After using it for many years, I had a look at the pan and the black stuff was literally cracked and chipped and falling out. We returned it and bought a stainless steel 'impact' scanpan pan instead. The stainless steal is amazingly easy to clean - it literally wipes clean, don't know why anyone would risk the possible health issues when you can use stainless steal, and Myer have it for 40% off when they have sales.

Will never ever buy another non-stick again. (we were told the newer scanpans are bad quality and won't last)

    • Dont they have lifetime warranty? I remember someone telling me that they got a new one in exchange when they reported their faulty one to Scanpan.

    • As far as I'm aware that applies to Teflon, which this pan does not use.
