Thanks will get the 10 inch one
I bought this one for $36.50 https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00006JSUE/ref=ppx_yo_d…
A bit deeper and slightly dearer but it comes with a lid that should also fit the shallower 10.25" skillet that I received today.. A good buy when you consider the lid alone is $25 https://www.amazon.com.au/Lodge-L8IC3-10-25-Cover-Black/dp/B…
Should be big enough to cook one steak, probably a bit small for 2, depending of course on size.
I have a 10" lodge, the cooking surface is approx 1.7" smaller with the slope of the edges. If the 8" is the same, would be roughly 6.3" cooking surface.
Pretty sure Lodge cookware are the eneloops of 2019…
I bought the 10.25inch and find it that it cooks well but the handle can get really really hot. I’m not sure whether the silicon handle is the best solution but they should at least comes with the pan. The maintenance process is also kind of time consuming that you need to clean it pretty much straight away or not long after cooking unlike other ones you can just leave it there for a few hours before the big clean up. And oiling it every time is also a bit inefficient. That’s just my opinion.
Use an oven mitt. Problem solved.
But you still need to clean up the oven.
I'm quite surprised how much better a ribbed skillet cooks a steak over a regular frying pan, i thought it was all talk, but no, it actually does a better job, steak tastes better.
I can see $38.95
