Oh no! Vector will be in trouble as its heavily cloud based. Thanks for info.
It should be $99 as part of a fire sale
it'll become a nice toy if they can't keep their cloud services running
would be nice if they made their IP open source now
I really am surprised they are still selling at this price point once the shutdown was announced.
Can I make this push the Dyson to create a robot vacuum cleaner?
at $299 you can pre much buy a robot vacuum haha :P
looks big in picture but it's actually tiny
yeah i have the cosmo and it fits in the palm of my hand
Maybe it's just far away.
I've got one… It's a paperweight. Don't buy one.
They were a kids game / education company and tried to pivot to adult companion robots… And failed miserably. They should have stuck to kids and education.
What was the point of these?
Sell as many as possible to suckers then cash out. Which is exactly what they did.
Not the cheapest price ever.
Got it from a seller overseas doing promo on Facebook for $59 and when I received, it was a copycat plastic remote control toy…Laughed my ass off, then finally got PayPal charged back.fun story
The company is shutting down after raising 200 million in venture capital. The company sounds dodgy as, i wouldn't trust their products either. https://www.vox.com/2019/4/29/18522966/anki-robot-cozmo-staf…
Anki business closed down, I believe the anki servers that gives the Anki it's cloud-connected services and features will also cease to work (e.g speech recognition and firmware upates)
Anki did offer a pretty vague promise about continuing to support web services but you should do some reading before you drop $300 dollars on what is an orphaned product. RIP Jibo and Anki.
