      sorry for ignorance, but what does 'rce zero day vulnerability' mean? I don't know anything about these range extenders but really need to get a signal in the second living space.

        RCE stands for Remote Code Execution which means they can execute malicious programs on the device from remote. Zero day vulnerability means, it is a vulnerability (in this case known) that has not been patched by the manufacturer. There is no defence against the vulnerability.
