Where is the redemption code? Not for me

    • +2

There is a banner you can click inside the Google 1 app with a code.

    • +4

You should also see it at one.google.com after login

      • Not for me. Looks like it is targeted

      • got it! Cheers mate

    • Fantastic. Got one. Thanks OP!!!

    Got it! Cheers OP

      • It says right in the description.

You need to have had a subscription prior to the 17th June 2019.

        • I have subscribed before this but was not targeted.

      • +4

You could steal one, then it would be free

  • Thanks OP got mine! was about to take redeem the Telstra plus offer too lol.

Old free gapps subscriber with custom domain… no family sharing or Google one for me :(

    • Same here…

    • I pay for GSuite for personal use but frankly it's annoying how many services hit consumer accounts while GSuite takes years at times to catch up. Things like the Google Home devices have multiple limitations as soon as a GSuite account comes into the equation. It's gotten better over the years but it's well short of the experience it should be and I'm a bit shocked it's taking so long to allow those accounts to better exist in peoples homes when so many schools and businesses are issuing accounts to staff or students. Understand the need for some barriers should a business not want someones partner accessing anothers work email, but make that the domain admins duty to decide and secure rather than not supporting these accounts across many of the consumer devices fully.

    Just claimed, excellent work OP

  • Got one, thanks

  • Awesome. Great find OP. Placed my free order just now.

    WTF is Google One?
    I best google it then…

    • Google One is the name of all their storage products (Drive, Photos, etc) under one app. If you use any of those, you automatically have a Google One account. Just download the app and you'll see it under "Offers" if you're targeted.

      • We’re working on supporting more platforms, but it’s currently not available on iPhone. https://one.google.com/faq/google-one-app

        Damn.

        • +3

You can access it through the web portal one.google.com.

I logged in through there and was able to redeem the offer.

      • +2

I even cant see "Offers" in my app.

      • -1

$2.49 to sign up then you can cancel after getting the mini I guess

        • +2

It says you have to be signed up before June 17

          • +1

@UndeclaredFreak: Then its pretty much pointless unless you already been paying. Obviously not really a deal for new sign ups. Not really useful unless you make full use of the services. It doesn't make sense to be a deal that you have to be already paying to get something for free and its targeted as well.

Most people wouldn't have signed up prior to that date to get this freebie right?

I wasn't gonna try saw the note, no point signing up and pay now.

    • +4

Google one is solid. i use it primarily for Photos backups and offset the monthly fee using Google Opinion Rewards so it's essentially free.

If you wanted to go to the extreme, you could sign up to the 200gb/m for $4.39/m and i reckon you'd get at least that much in Google Opinion Rewards monthly. I'm sitting on $5.14 for far this month. If you pay in advance, you just need to cover $3.66/m worth of surveys

      • +1

I only earn about 1 to 2 dollars for Google surveys. You must get around a lot more than me!

        • lol I get one every few months now.

        • theres a chance you and pot could've entered false information in the surveys 2 or 3 times. After reading an article about false answers for Google Rewards, i tried it out on 4-6 surveys spacing them out over 2 months and then didn't get a survey for a good 4-6 weeks lol…i mentioned the lack of via Google Chat and since been getting a steady stream.

for the record, i've received 22 surveys this month. tallied $4.44 last month

          • +1

@ExtraSalt: I had a HTC Desire work phone and I loaded Opinion Rewards, I had almost daily rewards from them.

Ever since I moved over to an Oppo phone, reinstalled the app, nup don't get a single survey from them anymore. Reinstalled the app, redid my profile, I think I got one survey a day after and 10 cents credited, and nothing since. :(

            • @swanny246: hmm damn thats odd…bring it up with Google..they should clear that up for you

              • @ExtraSalt: Yeah I did the "send feedback" option but don't like my chances of getting a direct response from Google on this issue :P

          • +1

@ExtraSalt: 270 surveys done and $62.15 earned lol

            • @WayneOZ: nice. we are both going at ~$0.23/survey. I'm $84.86 from 363

              • @ExtraSalt: Just downloaded the G1 app and checked benefits tab - nothing in there :( maybe Google already knows that I have a home mini.

        • +2

I've made $152 from 536 surveys since 4th of May 2014, have $32 unspent atm. I never know what to spend it on

          • @Kozhutki: nice. your run rate much better than my $0.23/survey haha…I wonder if theres a thread anywhere with people and their hauls. I started 05May17

I spend mine on Google One (obviously lol) and whatever remains just goes into the GPM wallet + Discounted Google Play cards

          • @Kozhutki: I spend mine on hearthstone decks.

            • @Skinnerr: Hmm that gives me an idea. Since I'm playing a lot of underlords right now I'll save it for when they add in cosmetic stuff and I'll hopefully be able to buy some of that.

          • @Kozhutki: Since 9 April 2014, 926 surveys for $254.12 but I'm pretty sure I forfeited some along the way.

            • @cushydeskjob: Yeah the credits last 12 months (I don't think this was the case when the app was new though). Still not sure if the credits expire 1 year after that specific survey or it's extended every time you do a survey, I would assume the former.

              • @Kozhutki: Pretty sure it's the latter, had anyone actually seen their balance go down?

                • @kulprit: I feel like I have seen it lower but I can't be 100% sure. A lot of these reward programs have those stipulations to prevent people saving a bunch of money. If it expires, higher chance people are gonna forget they had credit to begin with

            • @cushydeskjob: how much time does it take to complete one survey?

        • $142 from 565 surveys…. yikes

          • @fefris: $182 from 730

            • @kulprit: dagnamit ;-)

            • @kulprit: I think my G Rewards is busted, mine shows 721 Surveys for $327.02

              Since Dec 2014

              • @nismo: That is a huge return

              • @nismo: Really? Surely not lol.. Screenshot Or it didn't happen… $300+ in 4 and a half years is crazy

      • Did not know this was a thing. How long typically does a survey take?

        • +5

10 seconds. It is “are you in a relationship “ or “did you visit any of these stores?”, rarely more than 3 questions.
          Each pays about 20c.

If you delete all the data google has on you with their privacy tools, you will get more surveys.

          • @mskeggs:

If you delete all the data google has on you with their privacy tools, you will get more surveys.

That's awesome! You can endlessly sell them the same information over and over :-)

          • +1

@mskeggs: I don't think this is how it works, I frequently get asked the same question over and over. I think they are selling the results to advertisers each time rather than building up one large profile to sell (which they could only then sell once).

          • @mskeggs: I get those but a couple of times I've had quite lenghty surveys that pop up all day and have good payouts,

20th Sept 2018 was a very good day! $6.08 in one day pic below:

      • +1

but google photos does the back ups anyways and it's free.
        Then google drive is massive.
Hence I haven't found a new for Google One.

        • +1

it's free up to 15gb and unlimited storage if you choose for images and videos to be uploaded at HIgh Quality which is very different to Original Quality. High Quality is ok for digital viewing and printing to a degree, but if you want to (in future) enlarge certain pictures or whatnot, Original Quality is what you want…it's essentially like chucking in your memory card from your camera.

it's not for everybody, but i like the luxury of being able to print original quality images if needed. Original quality videos are probably a bigger draw card for me than photos tbh, but doing these quick surveys are a quick and easy way of offsetting the fees.

          • @ExtraSalt: yeah that's a fair point.
            Thank you for the explanation.

            • +1

@Elias11: My mailbox is at 35gb on its own. I like being able to find a message from 2009 (like I did yesterday!) within 30 seconds, and never having to throw out messages. I also use it to mirror my personal documents from my home machine so I can access them from work or my ipad.
And considering the extra storage is under $30 a year, and they have given me $7 credit last year, and now a mini, and $70+ from surveys in the last 2 years it is pretty good value.
I also have 60gb or so in JPG original quality pictures, which is fine since i don't shoot in RAW, which doesn't count against my quota.

              • @mskeggs: yeah it's definitely worth it with that price.

I have 115GB free between gmail and drive, that's why I am not finding it useful to upgrade as yet.
                Maybe in the future.

        • -1

Exactly the default is working fine for me for Google Photos. For files and if I need more space I will just use Box, dropbox and onedrive. I don't have to use Google drive. I haven't found anything good with Google One, I don't need it and besides the deal is only for people already paying….. And that monthly fee would be paid for nothing for people like me.

Therefore its not really a deal for everyone

  • Got the black one! Thanks OP.

  • +2

Cheers OP. Didn't see any email but downloaded the Google One app and it was there under the Offers tab.

    • Where is this offers tab?

      Was this on android app?

    • I can see Benefits but not Offers…no banner or link for me…

      • +1

Same here I can see benefits but not offers

        • +1

Same. Is this only if you pay for one of the storage options? I have the 15gb basic.

          • @Skinnerr: I've just opted in to pay the 100GB tier and it still isn't showing up.

            • @t0ast: Oof. Try cancel if you don't need it.

Read further down that it's targeted to previous paying accounts.

            • @t0ast:

Existing Google One Subscribers (Prior to 17th June)

  • Thanks OP! Got one too.

  • Thanks op. Got the white one.

  • Thanks OP got one

  • Hm can’t find Google One in App Store?

  • Thanks! Got one.

  • Got one! Thanks OP!

  • +1

Do you have to pay for Google One? I just use the free tier Google Drive/Photos

    • -1

you dont have to pay, but with the standard, you'd fill her up pretty quick if you want to upload full res videos and photos. read my comment above, but you can (and i do) get extra storage for *free

      • +2

I've been using Drive and Photo for years. So I am not eligible to redeem this offer? It wants me to sign up.. Strange.. :/

        • +4

Same here… Says become a member. Been using photos and drive since I can remember…

  • +2

Glad I forgot to cancel the extra storage after the free period ran out.

    • I'd cancelled after it took a payment (from my Google Rewards cash), however i'm still able to claim the Google home mini as my subscription stops on friday
