  • Does anyone know if R7 series supports Bluetooth Headphones? I searched everywhere but couldn't confirm.

    • Yeah it does. Waiting for a good price on the 75R7 myself.

    great price!

  • This model support Alexa/Google Assistant ?

Also, is Amazon Prime video app installed/installable on this??

    • Not sure about R5 but R7 has alexa support and site says Google will come in second half of 2019. Also, amazon prime comes pre installed and there is a dedicated button for prime videos on the remote

How do you know this? I haven't been able to find any reviews about the TV or picture quality.

    • Comparing to 2018 models:

-R6 is the replacement of the P6
-Series G seems to be some sort of similar model to the R6, but with Android OS and some slight changes
-R7 is the replacement of the P7
-R8 is the replacement of the P8
-R9 is the replacement of the P9

Just bought an R7 50" version. 4K Youtube videos look amazing.

      • So the R5/R6 are a P6 in terms of picture quality, but the R6 has more features than the R5 I'm guessing?

      • I found this link, not sure which one is correct http://en.tab-tv.com/?p=14190

I would imagine that mortgagetightass is suggesting that Hisense is using P6 panels, and internals, inside R5 chassis, such that performance for a R5 is equivalent to a P6. However, that’s just my assumption, mortgagetightass may not be suggesting that’s the case whatever?

Yes, it’s really frustrating to not be able to find consistent benchmarked reviews of current Hisense models, part of that though is that review sites like Rtings buy their own panels outright and keep them in storage, so I’d think that a; they likely have limited space, and b; with presumably limited funds they purchase the models that they feel are the most popular in order to remain relevant. I prefer that this is the case though (methodology of access to TV’s) because other sites often have their panels sent to them directly from the manufacturer, which means that the manufacturer hand picks their review models, and lends the reviewer (at the very least, at least subconsciously) to understand that if they review a model as utter garbage they might not get any more models sent for free. I’m not saying that reviewers who receive models for free, or are sent models directly from a manufacturer for review purposes are biased, but it’s certainly potentially a corruptible arrangement, I’d have thought. So, I certainly feel your frustration, but there is a reason that Hisense seem to be under reviewed, I think.

NB; also, just because Rtings buy their own panels doesn’t mean that they aren’t open to being influenced, or bias, officially Rtings receive their ongoing funding from donations of readers. In my view they’re similar to Choice, but with a much more specific AV bent.

  • Any idea if 75" Hisense is will over $1000? Will get if below… Currently 55" at home I don't want to upgrade to just 10 bigger.

    • same here

  • doesnt post to SA

  • Thanks, have ordered one to keep the wife off my KS8000.

  • So $38 more expensive than last week?

    • They did sell pretty fast though.

      • Well there was stock there all evening and night until the code expired. And the deal was only 3 days ago. Each to their own.

FYI smooth motion rate 100 is just bullshit marketing term for 50 hz screen.

    The R5 is not a 100hz tv

    • Especially with Hisense’s less than stellar frame interpolation.

  • showing in stock again…
