Bose QuietComfort 20 Wired Earphones $257.48 + 2000 Qantas Points Delivered @ Qantas Store

130

I reckon this is a steal!

QC20's cheapest I have seen is $329 for Android Version although for some reason Amazon AU are selling the Apple version for $276.

46.340 points to get them for free is good, they were 66,200 points

I opted to buy them only losing 2000 points which is nothing but it still makes the price $257.48 which is cheap! Plus I earned 515 points for the transaction so really only cost me ~1500 points

If you are in the market for a pair of these, I reckon this is a great deal.. Cheaper than I have ever seen them with ebay 20% off deals

    Poor use of points.

I lost 2000 points but still only paid $257 which is $80 cheaper than I can buy it for at Amazon AU. Plus I gained 515 points from the purchase. I reckon losing only 1500 points to save $80 is a good deal

      • your original heading had the bargain as 46,340 points for the earphones, working out at 0.7c a point. that's what I was commenting on by saying it's a poor use of points.

with your edited title, and going by what you did, a per point value of 4c is pretty good

These noise-cancelling earphones are VERY comfortable and have excellent active noise cancellation. As someone who doesn’t sleep (well) on flights, especially having tried headphones (i.e. QC25) which become a little hot and tight over time, I have found myself able to fall asleep with the QC20 earphones in. Would highly recommend!

Yeah that's why I bought them. I already own a pair but bought them for my partner for our upcoming night flights to Europe

Reminds me of the 2014 deal that sucked me into the OzBargain vortex. Mine is still going strong!

I still wish these were cheaper cons9dering how outdated they are. Still they do have the features i want - no bt and has anc

is there a massive box hanging off the audio plug? what is that? looks like a walkman

    • +1

That's the module for noise canceling..

It's a thin and light battery pack with the on off and ANC switch.

It's not heavy, but it does affect the balance of the wires. And it doesn't have a clip on it to clip to your shirt. The clip is an individual clip a bit higher up. So this thing will dangle.

The battery pack is close to the plug end instead of the headphone end, which makes it dangle even lower. I think it's not good design, as someone who's owned one before.

If the changed the shape to something tubular and thicker but smaller and has a clip on it, it would be an improvement.

      The ANC works well though.

      • I disagree. Haveing it a flatter shape makes it fit easier into my pocket with my phone for example.
Or even when carrying it in my hand. Having a round tube shape would make it bulkier.
Been using mine for a couple of years and compared to my Sony ones which have the battery pack higher up (and a round shape), it is far better having it near the plug and hence the device (in my case, my phone).

        • It depends on your use case. If you want to keep the phone and battery pack in your pocket, then this suits you.

That's not how I do it though. I want it clipped to my shirt which is impossible with this design.

If I'm watching a video on my phone, it will have to dangle because I can't clip it.

When I listen to music, I don't use my phone, I use my Sansa clip which is clipped to my shirt. The qc20 is poor if being used with another PAD that's being clipped.

If you can't clip it, the dangling will affect the balance and just get in the way. Unless you leave both the PAD and battery pack in your pocket. But those people probably don't use audio controls. I need to constantly use my controls so I would have to pull it out of my pocket everytime and put it back in. That is why I use a clip player which I can control by feel with physical buttons.

If you look closely there's also a Memory Stick PRO Duo slot to expand the memory of the Walkman :D

I'm a bit confused about this deal, which year it is? sorry is it 2016?

I'd rather pay another $56 for a much newer QC30 with eBay Plus for $313

    • Fair enough. I'm budget conscious at the moment. My partner doesn't want me to spend over $300 for headphones just for the plane trips as she likely won't use them as much as I use mine outside of plane travel. Happy with the price

How about Sony WH-1000XM2, I have both QC20 and XM2, I think XM2 might be a better choice for flights and under $300..

      • Claim back 10% on GST on your way out and it will be below $300.

you can't use the QC30 with an IFE on a plane, unless you buy a separate bluetooth audio transmitter, as there is no way of getting wired audio

Nobody mentions that it is more portable than any headphones?!

    These are my favourite.
I have a lot of headphones.
