I stumbled on this offer while browsing thru the HP online store. Essentially, if you buy certain printers, you can get cashback up to $200 but if you also buy a full set of ink/toner (so CMYK or C/RGB) in the same transaction, the cashback doubles to up to $400.

The site I linked in this post will have the list of all eligible printers and ink sets plus their cashback amounts. Also, the cashback is via EFT to an account you nominate so no prepaid cards or such things to worry about.

The only thing is that HP themselves do not state which resellers (stores) participate but I do know JB Hifi is advertising this but Officeworks appear do not know (although if you complete the claim form, they come up as a valid reseller).

Cashback claims are due back to HP no later than the 14th of August 2019.

I bought myself an Officejet Pro 8710 for $149 from Officeworks and once they accept the claim, the price goes down to $109 which is pretty good for a printer that can do duplex scanning and printing (hard to find printers that can do duplex scanning for less than $150 or even $200 new).

    I mean if you're going to print large volumes, you really should be buying laser printers to begin with. Yes, HP ink is dear but you buy the best set for what you need: normal size for usage or XL for lots of jobs. Even then, you can usually find original branded ink on eBay for a bit less than at Officeworks/JBHifi/HN.

    I should know as I have owned HP printers in the past when the standard was still one black ink cartridge and one for the CMY set and they were up there. Now, it was choice between this or a dearer Brother/Canon/Epson printer that can do duplex scanning or buy second hand on eBay.

  Interesting, I'm sussing out an Epson WorkForce WF-3725 from Harvey Norman - $198, down to $118 after cashback (https://www.clubepson.com.au/competitions/data/#525).

  Now I have to compare a few of these HP printers specs!

  So an update; they approved my cashback claim approximately 1 week after I lodged it and earlier today I got an email saying the cashback has been released and it should appear in my bank account within 6 days. That means Officeworks is a valid reseller for this promotion and you can buy from them and claim the cashback even though Officework themselves do not advertise it.
