    Pay in US or AU?

  • Now we wait….

  • Thanks OP! Ordered my first fitness tracker.

  • Got one :) thanks OP

    • +1

Arrived today, less than a month… wasn't that bad :)

      • Where are you located??

        • Sydney cbd (not me, but work :))

  • Great deal! Thanks OP.

  • Thanks dealbot, you're an absolute legend!

  • Been thinking to buy one since it released

  • just tried and website says the Paypal4618 code is not valid, assuming reached first 17500 customers.

however if you click 618 at top banner you can claim $5 voucher if you spend over $40, not too bad.

and thanks OP the Mi Band is indeed even cheaper compared to if you buy directly from Mi.com. good deal

    • Argh, phone battery died during checkout (code worked). Re did it once phone started up again on charger and code now "fully redeemed". SIGH

      • +1

Check your account, you might still be able to continue the payment as the order already created and saved for next 6 hours.

        • +1

Yes true! I just saw that before - it was pending payment so completed the order :)

  • daytime visibility is always issue for miband. i would rather exchange this color display for a eink display

  • Code doesn't work anymore

  • Help. I received a "Failure!!![0001]" message when I try to checkout with the code

    • me2

  • code at checkout doesn't change the price for me too… think we missed this one :(

  • code does not work any more

  • just tried and it worked… try using all Caps maybe?

  • Coupon invalid

  • +1

    coupon is dead…. :(

  • You need to add (AND save) an address BEFORE entering the code. If you already have a code entered before entering an address, you need to remove it (clicking apply without actually removing and re-adding doesn’t work).

  • Coupon gets added but doesn't do anything anymore.

  • Such a paiful websit to use.
I bought a bunch of cables last year around 618 promotion. but this year didn't buy anything.
It seems not only the coupon invalid, but also price back to normal US$44.81?

  • +3

    is it over?

if any joybuy rep here, please extend the coupon

  • +1

Ordered, hopefully it's good. Is this thing meant to ship soon? I noticed when sear hing for the band it had the listing for this item as "preorder" but I didn't see any details of the delay on the item page.

    • The MI band got released only on Monday and the international band will be released on Friday which is purely just software lol. I assume it would ship on the 26 of June like all other pre-orders from Aliexpress.

  • +1

Damn looks like I missed out! Wouldn't mind grabbing a couple of these either!

  • +1

    PayPal charged me $35.02
Not sure how op got that price stated in subject.

I paid in US, maybe should of paid in AUD.

Basically $31 with cashback, great deal still.

    • +1

That's PayPal's terrible exchange rates at work. You need to enable the setting in PayPal to charge your card in the original currency and let your financial institution do the conversion. I was charged $33.62 which is closer to OP's price.

      • Me too! Got charged $33.62 but ShopBack pay me back 4.85! Did you get the same score?

    • +1

Same as everyman. Charged $33.62 with Bankwest Mastercard and already got my $4.85 tracked from Shopback. It might take a good month to get here but $28.77 is a genuine bargain for this band. You'd be hard pressed to get it for under double that price at the moment.

      • I'm sure I let it charge me in US dollars, and not in Australian.
Once i got the email, and saw conversion it showed the price.

How do I select this option for future payments? I have a international fee free card too. Thanks

        Exchange rate
        $35.02 AUD = $23.09 USD
        1 AUD = 0.6593 USD
I did pay in Paypal via US, I can't find any option in Paypal.

That's why I left it in USD, and not AUD. I can't recall if there was an option. As mentioned, it's worse because I have a no fee CC too, not that it matters through Paypal.

edit Sounds like on the payment page there is an option for who to use to do the conversion! I must be blind, i'll have to look for it next time.

        • +3

The option is hidden away because PayPal dont want you to change it, they take a large cut during conversion.

Settings > Payments > Automatic Payments > Manage Automatic Payments > Set avaliable funding sources > Conversion options > Bill in the currency listed…

You need to have a debit/credit card, you can't change it for a linked bank account.

          • +1

            @wishcresp: after changing the setting

don't you also need to link a credit card that has no conversion fee?
ie 28 degrees etc to avoid the extra conversion fees?

            • @pinkybrain: I believe you would be charged a fee regardless of the currency you were paying in. My bank seems to have stopped charging international transaction fees so I had forgotten about it.

              • @wishcresp: but 28 degrees CC has no conversion fees
which bank you got that has no conversion fee?

                • @pinkybrain: ANZ travel CC

                • @pinkybrain: Sorry, you're right. You won't be charged a fee with a 28 degrees card. For some reason I though you were asking about paying in AUD, since banks will sometimes still charge you a fee since the transaction was processed overseas.

I'm with Commbank. They still list having international transaction fee's on their website but I haven't been charged one in over a year and I buy stuff from overseas all the time. If they do decide to start charging me again, I've also got an account with UBank that apparently doesn't have transactions fees.

          • @wishcresp: Thank you!

  • Cheers OP! Great score for ~US$20!

  • +1

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, missed it :/

    • Same here

  • In fact, you still put the console out of the bench to charge in the gen .It”s not like version 2 could work over one month…every 20 days ,take off and put in.

  • thanks op my mibans2 broke a while ago so this is perfect

  • This is an excellent price. I bought this in a Xiaomi store in China yesterday for 169 RMB , which converts to exactly $33 AUD. Shipped with warranty to Aus is fantastic.

    • got the link where you bought it?

      so they ship to AU?

      • +1

No, as in I bought it at the physical Xiaomi store in Shenzhen. Mi Band 4 is on the shelf there for 169 RMB RRP.

Worth noting that most Xiaomi gear in the Xiaomi store is usually a lot cheaper (20-50%) than Gearbest or anywhere outside of China when there is no sale, so I'm just saying this is a good deal for a brand new release product shipped with some form of "warranty".

If you're interested I could list some more prices for Xiaomi gear when I get time.

        • I'm interested in pricing for their robot vacuum cleaner! I'm looking to buy atm, but would be good to compare! It's annoying that shops not only profit off wholesale, but do further mark ups lol

        • Worth noting that most Xiaomi gear in the Xiaomi store is usually a lot cheaper (20-50%) than Gearbest or anywhere outside of China when there is no sale

Are you talking about Xiaomi stores in China specifically though? I'd be willing to pay 169RMB but don't know when my next trip to China will be, and I now live in a place with official Xiaomi stores but I don't find the pricing at the Mi stores here are necessarily cheaper than the Gearbest-esque pricing I've seen on Ozbargain.

so I'm just saying this is a good deal for a brand new release product shipped with some form of "warranty".

          Agree with this though!

        • next time can you share some photos of the xiaomi store in shenzhen?

how big is it in size compared some local stores in australia?

how much is the price in store compared to aliexpress prices?

          20-50% markup is quite alot,
it is just sad that we can't do much anything about this,
since we can only buy from these chinese online stores like gearbest, joybuy etc..

          • @pinkybrain:

next time can you share some photos of the xiaomi store in shenzhen?

Lol are you asking him to take some photos for you?? Could just google Xiaomi Store Shenzhen and see some pics I guess.

how big is it in size compared some local stores in australia?

Pretty sure there isn't a single local Xiaomi store in Australia. I believe there was one, albeit unofficial store in Chatswood (northern suburb of Sydney)

            • +1

@illumination: yeah could've just google it,
              just did it now

looks like similar style to the apple store..

I was just asking about it's size compared to local non xiaomi stores in australia..e.g jb hifi, etc..

Anyway had a look at the pics and it's about similar size to an apple store..
and it is in it's own building like Apple…

this video is pretty good look at it.
              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiyVA1yX6QQ

              • @pinkybrain: To above poster, yes I meant prices in the Shenzhen Mi stores. I haven't been to any outside of China.

The store is set out like an Apple store yeah. I recommend making the trip to anyone who visits a CN city with one, it's a paradise for a bargain hunter x gadget geek. It really helps being able to inspect and use their products in person vs AliExpress listings etc.

My intent with giving physical store prices is not to shit on Gearbest etc, cause they do an excellent job with prices for a reseller with their deals here. I'm just giving them so anyone who visits knows what to expect.

I will post some prices tomorrow when I can look at my receipts. From memory the automatic umbrella is 89 RMB, 10mAh power bank 2i is 79 RMB, 10mAh wireless charging power bank 150 RMB, automatic hand washer 74 RMB, RGB bedside light 2 with Homekit 159 RMB.

                • @Soothsayer: when I first bought xiaomi products I thought those box looks like they were inspired/copied Apple..
Now I see the store, I couldn't believe they did the same thing for their store.

At least their products range is so huge in comparison to Apple but with good quality and value for money prices
So glad they didn't copy Apple's rip off high prices..

Xiaomi are basically like the Apple of china
but with very value for money affordable products..

BTW you should list it in AUD price as well since RMB won't mean much to people here.
I know exchange rate can change, but an estimate what currently it is now would be good.

                  • @pinkybrain: I would consider Xiaomi more to be along the lines like Muji but with the aesthetics of Apple.

                  • @pinkybrain:

But what can Soothsayer do that you can't? Just use xe.com and convert the figures. If you are just after a ballpark estimate, then divide by 5 and cut a bit off. It's 4.73 at the time of writing according to xe.com

                  • +4

@pinkybrain: Sorry for delay - done with travelling for now!

Yes I didn't include conversion as I was on the move (and it's volatile anyway).

I didn't go to the store just to get prices, these are just what I've bought or took interest in / notice of. There were some sales to RRP scattered through the store. My favourite buys are the wireless charging power bank and the RGB Google assistant controlled bed lamp.

Xiaomi in China do a lot more than just what they're known for in Aus (power banks, phones, fitness bands) - they have loads of different home products (from every kind of home automation device to washing machines, AC units, TVs and soundbars), drones, electric scooters and go karts (!), luggage, and even a ukelele. Store is worth a visit just to check this stuff out, which all looked typical Xiaomi high quality from a basic first impression.

  • +1

Is back at US$25.99 via the link or product number, (counter has 1 day 7 hours left on it at time of this post).

The $5 off Paypal coupon doesn't seem to work anymore though, so with automatically applied GST comes to total of US$28.59 (depending on how your payment is converted that's ~AU$41 to $43).

Bit rich for me, but still a bit cheaper than the $US34.99 for the "global" version.

    • Ah cool, nice pick up.

I did want one but missed the original deal. ~$41 vs ~$34.. hm.. I think I might wait lol

  • Back in stock for a few bucks more. Cashback is 3.5%.

    • -3

      damn missed again..

please reply to me if it becomes available again
so I can be alerted thanks.

    • -1

Send me a message next time please :)

  • Yay! Got another one for about US$26
That's nephews sorted, need one for myself now :P

  • "Sorry, this item is unavailable." :-(

  • -1

I heard the chinese version will have NFC support,
so can that be used here?

Also can we flashed with an english/global fw?

    • There are two physical versions available at different price ranges, outside of Alipay and WePay you will not likely be able to use it outside of China. The MI bands itself will update itself according to the language set to your phone Chinese for Chinese and English for other languages.

      • -1

what you mean 2 physical version?
I thought it was just one physical version
but one has CN firmware (NFC enabled) and other has global fw (NFC disable)?

I know there is a special edition avengers one, but that is something else not what I am referring to.

        • NFC is physical hardware that is attached to the circuit within the band and not a firmware. Thus, there are two physical versions for the Mi band 4 as you highlighted. If you were to consider it from a marketing perspective there are three versions; International/Global, Chinese (NFC) and Chinese (Non-NFC), but the Chinese (Non-NFC) and global are the same units.

The special edition Avengersis a promo bundle that includes 2-3 bands, an etched avenger home button, post card, and box art.

[Edit: I just realised that the NFC can be used with other xiaomi product such as its smart door as a keyless access.]

  • Does the NFC on the band 3 work in Australia?

  • The EVIPjd618 code doesn't seem to be working anymore - does anyone have any other codes?

    Thanks

  • -1

Hey op, can your bring it back

    • +1

I don't think OP made the deal so it's probably not within their control

  • Has anyone had theirs dispatched from the seller yet? 7 days seems a excessive IMO.

    • Welcome to the fun world of Joybuy/JD. Shipping can take a while and then delivery even longer. I bought mine on 19/6 with contradictory shipping info, first saying “ships in 7-10 days” and then “ships 20/6-21/6”.

Given the MB4 just came out, I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes the full 10 days to ship, possibly longer. Then get ready for the snail delivery service. They did quote “30-40 days for delivery” - I expect the full time to be utilised.

      • +1

        I’m honestly expecting August sometime.

    • I got an email on the 20th of june saying it had been shipped.. however tracking number does not work.. so unsure if it actually has.

      (I bought at 6:44pm on the 19th)

      • Wow! I haven’t seen any update since my purchase.
        PS
I heard Chinese scam websites tell you it’s shipped but it’s not even in stock
        Read these!
        https://au.trustpilot.com/review/joybuy.com

      • (I bought a 6:54pm on the 19th) as well.
Do you know what carrier their using?
        BTW,
Sometimes tracking numbers take up to 8 days to update. What happened when I purchased my Mi Band 3 from Gearbest.
        Update
        My order number is 60046019482

        • China Post.

this is also included in the email in regards to time frame

          • @wreckedandjealous: Only takes 5-12 days to arrive as 1-2 days to ship!?!?!!?

            • @CrazyBargainCatcher: I take it as 1-2 days before the tracking number starts working.
              5-12 days delivery

              Update: tracking is working.

Your order has been processed and handed over to the carrier for delivery.
              2019-6-20 18:31:35

              • @wreckedandjealous: Mine got shipped yesterday :D. My tracking says it’s processed and my order has been processed and handed over to the carrier for the delivery.
By the way I don’t have a tracking number yet? Is yours the same when it first got shipped?

  • Still being processed according to site. Purchased on the 19th.

    • Same for me.
Gonna ask Joybuy when it’s gonna be shipped because it says 7 days and this is the 7th day.

      • It’s pointless asking. They’ll either fob you off, or give you a fake tracking number.

  • Mine shipped today, let's see how we go.

  • Does anybody have received the item? I got mine last week. But I received the older version Band 3.

    • Did you order the older version or the MB4?

      • I used the link of this post for purchase with code PAYPAL4618. The sale title of my ordered item also shows "Newest 2019 Original Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Smart Color Screen Bracelet Heart Rate Fitness 135mAh". However, there are now multiple options to select in the current sale in joybuy.

  • Mine is now showing up in Australia Post tracking. No details of its location but.

    • Same here - latest update is “shipping approved by Aus Post”. This just means the tracking number has been lodged with Aus Post - the actual item may not have shipped (although the JD shipping suggests it has).

A number of things can happen from here … we might get detailed tracking every step of the way OR we might get a update when it’s actually delivered. The joys of China Post & the integration with Aus Post … marriage made in hell ;)

      • +1

My item was shipped with this unknown Chinese carrier called Profit Fields AKA EWS.
The tracking says it arrived in Sydney customs 8AM 5/7/19
Says successfully cleared customs and should be shipped to my address in Melbourne by 14/7/19

      • To fix this problem I asked Joybuy CS and they gave me a secondary number that you can ‘Actually Track’ which I was surprised because in 8 days it had arrived in Sydney!!!!! Weird because my address was in Melbourne?!?

I bought one (from a completely separate/different deal). Upgraded from a Mi Band 2.

Here's my preliminary review based on 48 hours of usage:

    • The screen has massive bezels, which is very noticeable from certain angles. It definitely feels somewhat wasteful, but at least you know the potential screen size for future Mi Bands is much larger than the 0.95" of the Mi Band 4
    • The device came in Chinese. Once you pair it up with Mi Fit in English, it automatically changes to English. The initial screen (pre-pairing) says in Chinese "please pair device first".
    • The device came with a flat battery, which is not surprising considering you can't turn it on and off. I think it took less than an hour to charge.
    • I downloaded/changed to a custom display. Couldn't figure out how to change it back to the default display. The only way I was able to do this was to unpair my band and re-pair it. Googling didn't help either, I presume because it's too new a device so not a big enough sample size of users experiencing such issues yet.
    • There are supposedly 77 displays you can download, but I only can see 50.
    • It's cool how the full text of a SMS is shown. Not sure if the Mi Band 3 had this too, but as I said I upgraded from a Mi Band 2.
    • The "pause automatically" feature for outdoor cycling works quite well!
    • Battery seems to have been dropping by 5%/day, which corresponds to 20 days of battery life (from 100%) - so that's pretty good so far! Heart monitoring turned off though - although Mi Band Tools (which I've also downloaded) seems to be monitoring my heart rate, even though I've disabled it there too…
    • More holes than Mi Band 2, which is good for those with smaller wrists like me. Feels much the same, but has a different charger to the Mi Band 2.
    • The "lift wrist to view info" function works reasonably well. I think it's better than the Mi Band 2, but I don't know if that's just a placebo. I also can't compare anymore because my Mi Band 2 has died.
    • Just did a firmware update and the band lost 3%. Daym LOL.

What I'd like to figure out:

    • How to configure it such that my band vibrates for WhatsApp calls (but not messages)
    • How to either get the band to automatically start detecting when I cycle, or at least to have the ability to start cycling tracking via the band. At the moment, I can only start it via Mi Fit app on the phone.
    • For Display Settings, I currently have: Band display, Status, Heart rate, Workout, Weather, Notifications, More - yet my band only shows the default band display, some Alipay screen, and then music control. I can't figure out why it doesn't correspond lol.
    • How to use Mi Band Tools in conjunction with Mi Fit better. I've always felt that they kind of overlap and that Mi Band Tools is not really necessary, but I think I'm just using it wrong…

Also, this deal at ~$33 was indeed a great price.
