  • Can anyone clarify, are Boost SIM kits 1/2 off, or only the one Boost phone? The Coles catalogue only lists the phone.

    • $40 Boost is ½ price at Aust Post

        And from boost website too.

  • Need $30 boost…. hope near coles has it.
Oh. One question. Does anyone know if I can port out on the contract end date? Or should I do it the next day if I want to avoid any cancellation fee?

    • Does anyone know if I can port out on the contract end date?

If you are talking about Boost Mobile, you shouldn't be charged since it's prepaid not postpaid? I could be wrong. So you can port out whenever is my assumption

      • Thanks. But i am porting from optus. Under 2yr contract at the moment but ends on 21st. So i wonder if i can port out on 21st.

        • I'd hop on a live chat with Optus and ask how that process works, I am not sure sorry. Once you have that live chat, if you could explain what the process is to me, I'd appreciate that since I am about to get off contract with Optus. You can either PM it to me or post it here.

@CC123: From chat with optus: i can port out on 21st which is my contract end date and that will incur no cancellation fee. So basically what i need to do is sign up on new sim from any telco and port my number out. Then optus will send me final bill with a little cost calculated on pro rata for the days i stayed with them since my billing cycle date.

  • I'm looking for a cheap phone package which can be used on Telstra network. I don't need much data, 5-10GB/month should be enough. What are the options for me?

    • +1

this is your best option - ~6.6GB per month prepaid for 12 months for only $150 for the Year.
How much are you wanting to spend on it?

      • Thanks. Is this the normal price or a promotion one? The only problem I see is it give total quota upfront :-)

Last year I bought a Kogan Medium for $150 which started with 5GB/30 days then they increased to 13GB.

        • I think that it's normal. I agree, not much of a fan in terms of that too.
this might be a better option for you. I think you can head to the $40 plan (1/2 price at the moment) and downgrade to the $30 plan later on - I would confirm with Boost first though.

As for the OP, if you are after a Belong sim, you are better off buying from cellmate as it's only $13 for the $40 sim

  • Hmm.. wonder if they have telstra $40 at half price too.

May I buy the half price boost sim card and then recharge $110 to activate the $150 for 12 months plan?

    • Same question.

      • I called Boost to ask and the guy I spoke to ("Roman") said no, the $40 sim card can only be used for the $40 plan. It sounds like a strange restriction but I'm not willing to dump an additional $110 onto it on the off chance he's wrong…

  • Me too please…
