    Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Are they still selling Wii U games?

    • I couldn't stand the WiiU, I bought that game on it and never enjoyed it purely because of how bad the UI and the controllers were. I've repurchased it on Switch and play Mario U Deluxe on it, I've almost 100% it which is a first for me with a Mario game.

      • I'm doing a slow playthrough of NSMBUD at the moment too. Damn, 100%'ing this game is a challenge.

        • I went through first and just collected what I came across, now I'm going through and collection the 3 coins in each level. It's not so bad. The hard part is finding the secret level exit in each world. I'm not cheating exactly but I am googling to find out which stage it's in.

          • @[Deactivated]: I've collected the 3 coins on each level at a time, so getting through the level on my first playthrough while maybe getting one or two coins isn't so bad, but collecting the missed ones can often present a challenge. I've definitely googled locations, but then the execution/timing can be very difficult at times. One of the harder 2D Mario's I've played, and I'm not even onto New Super Luigi U. I've still got the last secret exit on world 8 and then the post-game (Rainbow Road).

            • @muwu: All players need to do is hold down the left analog stick on the game's start screen, then press L + R to open the game. If you perform this secret correctly, Nabbit will cry out – and you'll no longer perform spin jumps when pressing 'A' and 'B' together!

              \o/

  • 10% off gc's, yes please. I vastly underestimated the credit I need at jb annual boxing day sale.

Edit: Shame jb dropped from 15% to 10% last year though. Otherwise I'd probably stick it out to save a few bucks (big backlog anyway)

  • is pokemon let's go with the pokeball bundle?

    • It's $69 with the pokeball

  • How is BOTW for $69? What's the lowest its gone to?

    • Still overhyped.

It's a very competent game with plenty of busywork to do, alot is interesting (shrines) and alot is not (fetch/search). As with all games that have mute, empty vessels for protagonists, it's hard to give a crap about the limited story.

Although I rate it fairly mediocre I'd still say buy it, play it and sell it and you'll lose very little money. The DLC is pricey and still no story (don't believe the reviews) so consider skipping it. It doesn't hurt to try and you might just love it - lots of people seem to (or at least convince themselves they do).

I don't regret finishing it because I needed a portable game and had a backlog of only 1 or 2 games at the time.

      • Nintendo has always prioritised gameplay over characters and story.

    • +1

BOTW and Red Dead Redemption 2 are my favorite two games in the past few years. BOTW is simply amazing.

    • I think I payed about 89$ for the game plus expansion pass late last year, it's pretty much the reason to buy a switch.

    • Have well over a hundred hours of BOTW and never played too much of previous Zelda games. It is extremely fun and it’s gameplay, to me, makes up for the simple story plot. Easily a stand out on the Switch imo.

  • definitely getting some e-shop credit to add Banjo to Smash, thanks OP.
