$1 per month after CB. I like

    • I have to ask; what's the catch?

      • The catch is that it's then an absolute pain to port from them to another service provider. I'll soon be on day 7 of trying to port. A google search seems to show I'm not alone with this issue.

        • +2

I've ported out of Catch twice now and both times it took under an hour.

          • -2

@smogg: They are complete clowns. I've never encountered a more incompetent telco. Amateur hour

        • I just moved 2 numbers from catch a couple days ago. One to kogan and the other to belong. 0 problems.

        • Have also ported out from them several times, never a drama.

        • Who were you porting to? Could it be a provider on the Optus network? I have never had any problems porting away from Catch. The last time I ported out it took less than 30 minutes to port away (to Tesltra). It is always recommended to never port to a provider on the same network as this can take a long time to do. Always port to another network. And you can always just port to Telstra (by getting a free sim online from their website) and then port back to the Optus network straight away (with no hassles or costs at all). I have done this many times.

          • @Rodo: I’m porting to the Telstra network

        • +1

i was one of the first who experienced this issue and i can vouch for your opinion.

        • I just left and it took a day. Porting in also took a day. A new service activation took 20 minutes to be active.

      • The catch is they use floptus. You'd be lucky to get a signal when you need it the most.

      • +4

Powered by Optus. Not Vodafone at least.

  • Hi rep, is this a permanent change or for a limited time?

    • +3

This is for a limited time (the offer will end 16th June 11.59pm AEST).

      • +1

Excellent, my Kogan 90 day plan expires on 15/07/19!

        • -1

but the offer ends on 16/06/19 ..

          • @tempura: Yes he will loose one day, but new sim will cost him $3 after cashback for 3 months

          • @tempura: If he buys this deal on 16/6, it is still within 30 days to activate it on 15/7 (or even on 16/7).

            • @Neoika: I wonder if that is enforced in reality. The normal terms mention 30 days for any attached offers, and the sim itself has 24 months to be activated. I activated a sim last week that was purchased three months ago.

              • @Major Mess: You may still activate the sim but cashback may be voided, not worth the risk.

  • "new catch connect customers" = "people who haven't received a ShopBack cash back from Catch connect purchase"?

    • +3

There is no limit on how many cashback entries you can have for Catch Connect with ShopBack, as you could have purchased for different family members.

A new Catch Connect account would put you as a new customer, but take note Catch Connect could do stricter checks later down the track once they go through the process of approving/rejecting cashback.

      • I have 2 existing Catch Connect plans for 2 family members managed under the 1 account.

If I buy a 3rd SIM/plan for another family member am I eligible for this cashback?

        • +2

You need to purchase using a new Catch Connect account to be eligible.

        • +2

We all know what you mean. 😉

          • @No ONE: No One knows it.

          • @No ONE: was actually a genuine question!

I've been porting my kids back and forth between Kogan <-> Catch for nearly a year now on these $15 90 day offers and wanted to add another

    • +2

It takes up to 35 days for us to go through the process with validating the cashback claim with amaysim. If it's past that mark or something's off then let me know and we can definitely follow up with amaysim.

My experience: Non-tracked transactions do happen for various reasons. Nothing is perfect on this side of heaven. But they are definitely far and very few. The more important thing is the Rep gotyourback is ever ready to jump in to sort it out when it happens.

      • I find Cashrewards non-tracked are far fewer. It's basically half of the transactions I do with Shopback that don't get tracked. If you use it more than once in a day, you can forget it working, and will have a whole lot of work chasing them up.

As for gotyourback - the first time they've chimed in was now, because I negged the deal. Previously no response when I raised the issue.

        • There are far more complaints about Cashrewards.

  • Good deal

  • +2

Still waiting for cashback from the same deal in May. Wish the same deal culd be posted every three months.

  • +1

Good deal, but must activate within 30 days of purchase. I still have 2.5 months left from kogan deal. :(

  • +1

"your SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase."
    :(

  • +1

If I buy two am I eligible for two cash backs?

    • +1

Yes, please see here. Must be a new Catch Connect account for each SIM.

  • How do you define new customer? Based on mobile none or email address?

One who never been catch connect member or even if member previously with catch , moved out to Telstra and port in to catch is also new customer?

    • New customer is based on email address, but as mentioned above if you're going to do this do note Catch Connect could do stricter checks (more than just your email address) later down the track once they go through the process of approving/rejecting cashback.

  • May I ask when this deal is going to expire please? As my current Kogan prepaid plan doesn't run out till 30/7/19, so the earliest I could purchase this sim is on 30/6/19. :(

    • StoreRep notes in an earlier comment: This is for a limited time (the offer will end 16th June 11.59pm AEST).

      • Thanks for the headsup Borg. :)

  • how long will it take to get cashback?

    • +1

It'll take up to 2 days. You may refer to "Tracking Speed" under the cashback details on the store page too.

      • cheers mate! i got it with new user referral :D

  • see this before you commit.

  • New customers, or "new service" like with the previous offers?

    • As per the OP, this is only for new Catch Connect customers.

  • 54GB data allowance for 90 days
    $15 - $12(CB) = $3, $1 / 18G / 30 days

    If I chose 30-day plan, I'm getting 40G by paying $4.9 - $3(CB) = $1.9, plus 200 STANDARD INTERNATIONAL MINS TO 32 SELECTED COUNTRIES

  • When I got to the payment page, it tries to charge you the $89!
Contacting a Catch rep via chat, I just got the answer that others are now having the same problem and I can purchase a sim for $15 through catch.com.. I won’t get the $12 Shopback that way..
Not a very good first introduction to Catch and now my second hassle with trying to use Shopback..

    • just happened to me. asked for full refund, they try to partial refund the difference. sorted now.

    • +1

It seems like they've fixed it up and it is showing as $15. If you'd like to purchase, make sure you're creating a new Catch Connect account (New email ID) for this.

  • Still showing $89 wtf. Yesterday was fine $15. Why break something when it was working.

    • I think Catch Connect does not need to keep it at $15 for Shopback to run this deal. Shopback should update the deal when the price change happens.

      It means this deal expired.

      • Well it says $15 on Catch but $89 on checkout

  • Thanks for that. Great to have as a fallback if internet goes down. For $3 for 3 months and if remains unused (but activated), still great value and to have.
