  • Hi Luke,

Any chance to get a deal on the i7 system with GTX 1660 Ti?

    • what why

      • Presumably to save some $$

      • +1

no need of a high end gaming PC but just the basic level graphics card with a good processor.

  • Hey Luke,

If we order today, what brand of gpu would we get for 1660 Ti?
Are any 144hz monitors available now for a bundle?

    • Not sure which system you're referring to, but the answer has to be the same mate - brand may vary. We don't use Biostar for anything other than 570/580 though.

      • sorry, just edited the comment

        • Ditto on GPU - brand may vary.
Haven't got the details on the new monitors as yet sorry!

      • Anyone knows how the Biostar Rx570 holds up with OC or just with normal usage? Thanks!

  • Hi OP, regarding the $490 i3 system. Do you make more variations of this kind of ‘basic’ spec PC?
I will be considering a purchase in the future, and if you could provide me with a link or something to other cheaper systems that would be appreciated.
PS: I am a regular PC user so integrated graphics is all I need.
Something like i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB SSD or HDD in a small case.

    • +8

This is our all time lowest integrated graphics PC: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192896607141 ($314.10 after discount).

      Ryzen 3 2200G: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192925715879 ($404.10 after discount).

It's virtually impossible with Intel as most 9th gen CPUs (with the F at the end) don't have integrated graphics anymore and that's what we get in, as integrated isn't a huge seller for us.

All base systems come with a 120GB SSD but you can add a 1TB HDD through PC Upgrades on each listing.

Say hi to Homer for me.

      • -1

Thanks for your prompt reply. I understand most of your customers are probably after a gaming PC.
I just thought it would be possible to get a better PC custom built, rather than off the shelf PC’s (at retail stores etc).
I think the CPU can be less powerful than your options, and I was under the impression the GPU made up for a significant amount of the system’s cost.
I guess I will have to have a look around (expected ~$300 with 1TB storage option).
Thanks again. Homer is working over-time.

        • +2

I don't think you can really get less powerful current gen CPUs than those two. You'd be into older gen/refurbs sub $300.

      • +1

        Ryzen 3 2200G: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192925715879 ($404.10 after discount).

That's painful for me to see, considering I recently bought a motherboard and that processor for about $350.

  • +2

    Any gaming laptop deals?

    • +1

Not yet. It's on our mid-term list though!

      • +1

I would be interested in this!! I'm keen for an eight core Intel laptop. More for software development so I don't really care about graphics power etc.

  • hows a 8700 compare to a ryzen 2700 for gaming?

    • +1

Favourably for 1080p or running emulators.
About the same for 1440p+ (gpu bottleneck).

  • Hi Luke,
Interested in the i3 bundle, on the spec sheet image on ebay it lists just 2 x USB 2.0 slots is that correct? No USB 3.0?
    Thanks.

    • +2

Yep, that's the case ports - the motherboard has 2 x USB 3.0 at the rear.

  • Any Intel CPU to be paired with the 1660Ti?

Also with the ram, what timing speeds are they?

    • I believe 2400

      • +3

We advertise 2400MHz as we sometimes get that in, but the vast majority nowadays is 2666.

  • Is there an i5 system with 1060?

  • Is RX 570 from the previous deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/461813 not as good as this GTX 1060 3GB?

Wonder if I can get a refund and purchase this one instead?

Also for the i3 page it says "i3 8100 Quad Core"?

  • 2080 is equivalent to 1080ti right?

What's the RTX equivalent to Titan XP?

    • The Titan RTX

      • How many kidneys will it cost?

        • +5

          From Google:

kidneys fetch about $262,000 (USD, so AUD ~$379,074.70)

RTX Titan is $3999 at Mwave

Therefore the Titan RTX would cost 0.01054937193 kidneys.

          :)

          • +1

@Zazer: Why, that's just a bit off the side part of the kidney! A few cells!

  • +1

When will you have Ryzen 3600 pc built system with Radeon 5700 in stock? Do we have to wait for long?

    • +5

We'll be offering pre-orders in July.

  • -1

I desperately need a mini pc. Why home ever make a deal on that???

    • +2

It's extremely niche. Impossible to get pricing on anything to make a deal out of it

  • What's the cheapest way to get windows legitimately?

    • +1

      Downloading from MS

      • +1

an ebay key from a respected seller

        • +1

The $15 keys from ebay, are they legit?

      • This is accurate. Just never activate it.

  • I see a lot of 8700 build deals but never any 8700k, any chance of one in the future?

    • It's because these use super budget components.

An 8700K needs a separate CPU cooler, and a Z390 motherboard for overclocking.

    • We looked at K builds today actually. It's doable, but not at any great prices. Needs more work.

      • love ya luke, keep up the good work!

  • Are the invoices itemised with individual costs? i.e. so I could take the 1660Ti GPU out and TRS it for instance, or just a system total? The whole thing's a bit big to take :D

    • don’t think so!

    • +1

Nup, invoice can be itemised to component but not cost. Can't take individual components out to save $.

      • No didn't want to take out of the build, just be able to take it out the country and TRS the smaller bits which requires them to be itemised on the invoice as some place do. However understandable you don't want to make the costs etc public.

  • Who the manufacturer for the RTX 2080?

    • +1

depends on their stock, but could be galax, msi, couple of different brands.

    • +6

Literally answered six hours ago, when you last asked… Ever heard of the definition of insanity?

It's extremely niche. Impossible to get pricing on anything to make a deal out of it

  • Any chance of getting the: Ryzen 5 2600 GTX 1660 Ti 6GB 120GB SSD 8GB DDR4 Gaming PC
With Ryzen 1700 - would shave some $ off?

    • +1

      Nah mate, current gen only.

      • -1

        Roger.

And prices on Ram upgrades? (6gb no use would need 32gb,64 if price is right).

        • +2

Not to be rude, but can I ask why you need so much? Unless you’re doing high-memory productivity work, 16GB or even 32GB would do you fine. 64GB would be overkill, most people only have 16GB.

If you really need or want it then please don’t buy it as an upgrade from Techfast. I love Luke and his prices but the RAM he puts in is bottom tier 2400 mHz, or 2666 at best (which I respect, it’s a business). You’d get a significant performance boost putting in 3200 mHz by yourself. It’s just as easy as pushing it in.

  • Would like to ask what is the estimate delivery time to Sydney?

    • +1

7 business days build plus a couple delivery.

  • sorry I'm noob here, I've got a GTX 1070, where would it fit in the graphics card world now?

  • Hi Luke,

Just curious if I was to purchase the system with RTX 2080, would it be possible to get another standalone 2080 for a similarly discounted price? My friend wants to upgrade his GPU but is happy with his system

    Cheers

    • Probably not unfortunately. In likelihood our next large batch will be OEM with no retail packaging and not really suitable for separate sale. May change, will post deal here if it does.

      • No worries cheers anyway!
