  • Not available on my explorer, most likely targeted with any woolworths offers in the past

  • Got it on my Platinum, Reserve & Platinum Edge.

  • +1

    Got it on my Essential.

  • targeted?

  • -1

Able to use it for opal topup?

    • +2

if you can top up opal on woolworths online then yes

    • Don't think so buddy

  • Targeted

  • Can someone do a manual link pretty please?

  • Appeared on my platinum edge

  • +1

Got it on my Qantas card.

  • Got it on my Velocity x2

  • Only got it on my Velocity Escape

  • +1

Don’t have it on any cards so far.

  • Got it on primary card but not on the additional card. AMEX Essentials - the free one.

  • Got it too!

  • If I purchase $100 online, made payment to the card, then later found out that some items are not available when I go pick up, and got refunded for them, would I still qualify?

    • In one or more transactions, you’ll need to do another order with the difference amount in order to qualify

      • Nah, no need, Woolworths charges your order immediately so it'd trigger the cashback if over the amount. Even if you got partial refund the credit still stay based on previous experience

        • -2

Try to refund to another credit card in store

        • +2

Not in my experience, the credit was reversed for Woolworths.

        • +2

It doesn't charge the card technically, puts a card authorisation on instead and only charges the final amount.

The pre-auth seems to have triggered the cashback but then the final amount posted to the account is less than the cashback requirement so a refund gets processed :( I'm in the same situation after ordering a delivery order so have asked Woolworths for the $20 considering their system said that something was in stock when it wasn't…

          • +2

@bdl: This was my experience too. The original amount triggered the email, but the final amount that hit the account was under the $100. I rang Amex to ask for the offer to be honoured based on the initial amount and was denied because the promo is offered by WW and they told me to put another order through to make up the difference.

  • Appeared on my qantas discovery and platinum edge

  • Just got an Amex for the first time recently, and this is the first time actually looking into these things.
I was targeted and redeemed, is it just automatic now as long as I spend the required amount on the eligible items?

    • +1

      Yes

  • +1

Didn't get this on my Amex Ultimate :(

  • Says not redeemable with third party, so if I use ShopBack or Cashrewards links, would I still get 20$ ?

    • YES.

  • On both my Explorer and Discovery

  • Can I buy Woolworth gift card ?

    • No according to T&C.

    • +3

i don't think you can buy giftcard online at Woolworths as it takes you to a different website and paying a different entity

      • +2

        Yep it’s: giftcards.woolworths.com.au

I’m still tempted to test it out.

        • Let me know how it goes :)

        • T&C said cant, please let us know the result

        • i tried that before, the transaction is not even under Woolworths but some giftcard company

          • @reacher: For the last time I bought a gift card through that website, it was on my Bank of Melbourne credit card, it came through as "Woolworths Gift Cards Bella Vista". So it probably would not be approved by Amex for statement credit.

            • @sween64: well, i am just telling you from past experience(nov/2018), i never get the redeem email, and the transaction is from everydaygiftcard, but feel free to try your luck.

              • @reacher: Did they use www.everydaygiftcards.com.au as domain name before? I can't remember even I purchased a lot of times.

                • @findcaiyzh: that's what happened to me before, it goes to everydaygiftcards website, but checking now it seems to stay in woolworths website now, so not sure, maybe it's changed now, someone can try it and test out

      • +1

        it takes you to giftcards.woolworths.com.au

according to g.pay the $100 was charged by 'Woolworths Group Gift Cards"

I'll post back when the Tx comes through & if I get the $20.

        • good on you mate to give it a try

          • @SydOzber: $100 processed but no $20 credit.
so i guess it doesn't work.

Oh well lets see what else I can buy.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: I would give it another couple of days yet to be sure about the credit.

              • +1

@SydneySwan: Agree. Another way to confirm if the credit is on its way by logging in to the app and see under “Redeemed offers” section

Usually the offer turns to Redeemed before the credit comes through

                • @SydOzber: I usually (always?) get the cash back when it’s been processed.
IT’s still not marked as redeemed (although when I did the Hilton offer recently, I got the cash back a few weeks before it was marked as redeemed).

Also the transaction has changed to Everyday GIFT CARD 6673 Bella Vista

But I’ll report back in a few days

                  • @[Deactivated]: so… did you get credit?

                    • @Cisco123: Sorry, Nope

                      • @[Deactivated]:

                        D. Credit & Points
Credits or points should be credited to your account within 5 business days of you meeting the offer spend requirement – however this can take up to 90 days from the offer end date.

From recent reports credits don't seem to be instant anymore :( so you may still get it. I'm keen to test this out too.

                        • @abc: I doubt it. It came from Everyday Gift Card, not Woolworths Online.

                        • @abc: Never got it..still got the offer available, so gotta buy some things… maybe some booze

                          • @[Deactivated]: I wonder if the AMEX offers are no longer "instant" like previously. I still haven't received my Chemist Warehouse credits yet.

                            • @abc: No, it's just Chemist Warehouse being a PITA

                              • @kerfuffle: Shouldn’t have anything to do with CW, Amex should detect a tx and process it.

                                • @[Deactivated]: Unlike every other offer, it said in the terms and conditions that no one would get their CW credit until after June 30 and by July 31 at the latest. I have a feeling that’s more a CW request as no other offer e.g. Sony has this condition

                            • @abc: You’re right neither have I. I’ll have to chase AMEX up.

  • How to manage many cards, is it possible to add multiple cards to one account? Otherwise it is very annoying to have each card an account.

    • I have my westpac amex and my essentials amex on the same account , same name , did it automatically after I activated and signed in .
perhaps call them if it doesnt do for you

    • get the APP

      Set up username01 - username02 etc…

      makes it less painful…. kinda

  • Received on my Velocity Platinum Amex. Thanks OP.

Wishing I got the Kayo as well!

  • Got it on my qantas ultimate

  • Thanks..saved mine..via Amex webpage… have a QF Ultimate

  • Didn't get it on my Explorer :/

  • Got the offer too

  • +1

how can people spend $100 in groceries in one go? If pay full price yes but if you only buy stuff on specials, hard to reach $100.

    • +1

It doesn’t have to be in a single transaction.

    • +2

If you have a bit of storage you can stockpile. Eg tissue boxes, toilet paper, dish washing liquid, detergent, paper towels, house cleaning liquids/wipes etc. $100 wouldn't go too far too be honest. If you make a new account you can get delivery for free so you don't have to pick it up/pay for delivery.

    • You have to be joking? Does 1-2 weeks worth of food cost you less than $100?

    • +1

I agree…. so hard to spend unlesss I’m buying bulk spam/tuna that lasts me half a year.

    • A lot of toilet paper and other non perishables for me

    • +1

      Having children works for me.

  • Got it on my Amex Gold. Pity you can't get gift card.

  • Does anyone still receive confirmation emails after saving the offer to their card? How about once the offer is redeemed? Or is all communication via the online portal now?

    • +1

Received email about an hour later

      • Same here

  • Got it on my Amex black and Discovery.
Last time I bought via Wolies online when they have plastic bags. Do they now charge 15c/bag by default?

    • +2

yes but you can select to remove plastic bag

      • +1

        Thanks for the info
If I remove it and do "click and collect" I wonder how they would pack up my shop. I know its common sense but never tried..

        • they just put all of them on the trolley and wheel it out to you

    • Guys, don’t forget combined the woolly website offer! Spend $200 dollar and get $20 off.

      It doesn't make any difference.

If you redeem the AMEX offer by itself, you save 20 / 100 = 20%

      If you combine as per your suggestion, you save (20 + 20) / 200 = 20%

      The saving is the same

      • not for the person who actually would have spent 2 transactions of $100 each over few days… may be s/he can spend all together and get $40 discount?

        • You're better off paying with two cards and getting $60 off the $200 purchase.

          • @jv: yes - if you have two. then my friend we have got good savings.. both % and $ wise.

          • @jv: how do you pay by two card at woolworths online?

            • +1

@aunolan: Dunno, but that's the only way to get a better return if you want to combine the two offers. Otherwise, max discount is 20%

              • @jv: For someone who has one card and want to spend $200. Its better for him/her to spend at one go to get $40 discount. If s/he does in separate transactions - they would only get $20 off (10%).

          • @jv: Can we pay with 2 cards on same transaction?
