  • Exactly what I needed, thanks!

    • I have the cordless version(~$230). It came with a 1.5 Ah battery which allows for 15min run-time(annoying as hell). If I had my time again I'd go for the $23 corded.

      • You have the battery and charger, so now you can by skins of products like a Bosch drill or blower.

I have to say that the cordless version just doesn't have the power to cut through much… but its good for small jobs.

        • I have a 4 stroke brush cutter for the heavy stuff.. A 6Ah battery to replace the 1.5Ah would be ideal but my 10yr old Bosch ART 26-li isn't compatible with the newer power for all system.

new invention called the extension lead

      • I don't think that's what s/he meant. I think it's about the 23cm string length. And it's only 280w.

I almost jumped on it. But now I'm thinking it's useless, and even at this price will be a regret.

Someone more informed might be able to comment

        • The have the Bosch Line Trimmer ART 30 (550 Watt, 30 cm Cutting Diameter) for $80

All corded line trimmers are designed with short inbuilt power leads on purpose as they are meant to be used with an extension lead.

Also, I don't understand exactly how it's 'useless', it plugs in and cuts grass, therefore it most be of use to at least some people.

On the face of it, I know where you’re coming from, with most household appliances like a vacuum cleaner mostly they have a long cord and an extension cord isn’t needed, but this design is actually quite clever because it means that you have to use an extension cord, which protects the appliance in this instance, as if it gets hit by the blade of the line and the cord is broken it is much cheaper and easier to replace than re-wiring the line trimmer itself.

Thanks for the negs guys. I assumed my comment was so patently ridiculous that people might understand it was said in jest. Obviously that got missed. If you need me, I'll be in the naughty corner…

      • i lol'd firstly at your wit, and then at the people who didn't understand the wit

      • A simple exclamation mark at the end of your comment would have made the sarcasm much more obvious, trust me.

        • You honestly want people to let you know when they're using sarcasm? It defeats the purpose, captain sensible.

          • @ozoner: I don't, but you have to keep in mind the medium you're on, people don't always understand it (this is coming from someone who's sarcasm can be so dry that it's often missed in person!)

  • There is one available on ebay for the same price and another for a couple dollars more so you don't have to spend the min $49 at Amazon for free shipping.

    • You don't need to meet the min $49 spend for this. Min $49 is typically for international items

      • +1

It says free shipping on orders over $49 for me. Basically everytime I have ordered on Amazon Australia this has been the case. Please share how you are getting free shipping on this without prime
