I bought 2 of these for my Cafe. Out of the box, 1 chromecast kept playing up. after a lot of back and forth I just added a external Chromecast to it. Over all is pretty good
I use 24/7 from gaming to display at The Digital Cafe

I never knew that getting MACE in the face was the way to an impeccable viewing experience…

  • Resolution: 2060p?

So 2k…. on 75"? That does not seem like fun to me. Better to wait a few weeks and buy a Hisense p7 65" 4k for the same money.

      2160p is officially 4K.

Just be careful, the panel refresh rate is only 50hz, so playing games in 4k may not be possible as they require 60hz to be enable, I just checked on soniq website they made 2 identical models one 50hz the other 100hz

Yes this model has a UV (N75UV17A-AU)in the model number where as the 100hz has the UX (N75UX17A-AU).
The 65" on sale currently at Amazon is a better deal for $549.

Every panel for a TV is either 60 or 120Hz. The only time it's shown as 50hz is for normal TV viewing for Australian models. Because it's interpolated down as our broadcasts are only 50. Gaming, usb, HDMI ports, etc gets the full 60Hz. Only a handful of this year's TV's have 120Hz @ 4K as it needs HDMI 2.1 to run it.

      • Well I bought my 65 inch soniq last year and plug my xbox to it and it would say can't play in 4k as your TV doesn't support 60hz, but it could play movie at 24hz in 4k, I just talking from my own experience, I bought that TV for my ps4 pro and xbox and couldn't play either in 4k, I hVe the 65inch model

        • I was very disappointed with that as it became useless to me, so I put it in the kids play room and got myself a benq 4k projector and one more thing that's bad with them is that when u watch bright scenes on it you can actually seen ball of lights through the middle of the screen from the backlights

It would be either the hdmi cord wasn't high enough bandwidth or the TV can't display 4K @ 60Hz only 30Hz as it has hdmi 1.4 not 2.0. Has nothing to do with 50Hz

      • Yes and I am stating this model is 50/60hz and the UX is 100/120hz.

  • 75" getting cheap

    I got a 65" from Aldi 9 months ago for $599

It's having some screen issues, so might return it under warranty now that other brands have come down.

  • JB had these for the same price last month(some stores still have stock, but not many)

JB ceased stocking and selling TV’s from Soniq earlier this year

    • Are you sure? I saw some in JB on Sunday.

      • +1

        Probably old stock. https://www.channelnews.com.au/exclusive-soniq-bitter-after-…

It's not surprising. Soniq is garbage and Hisense would be destroying them which is why they'll probably pull out of Aus soon.

        • Yep agreed. Soniq is pretty poor. Better to pay a little more and get a Hisense for sure. Particularly with end of financial year deals just around the corner.

      • Still selling through old stock

  • I have purchased this tv, when it was on sale at jb, can confirm it is indeed 4k @ 60hz, when using the internal chromecast, however anything plugged in via HDMI will need to be v2.1 to support 4k @ 60.

The 100hz listed in the manual is a software based enhancement to simulate 100hz

I have only had very minor problems with mine which are always resolved with a reboot, there is only a stanby switch on the tv itself and remote so need to unplug at power point to reboot

The tv is well worth it, external sound via optical recommended though.

  • "the Soniq private label business is up for sale with Soniq now discounting out Soniq TV’s in Australia following the JB Hi Fi decision to terminate the relationship."

Be well aware if you buy one of these units having your warranty serviced in 6 months from now may happen, but may not.
