There is no lifetime platinum 🤔😉

        • +1

I never said there was, but you can be perpetually be in platinum. Something that amateurs like yourself need not worry about.

  • I am waiting on approval for the older offer expiring 31 may 70k/30k points…its been 5 days wait..call centre told me tonight they are besieged with applications and it's taking 5-8 working days.

I asked if they can approve my card with the new offer and the first person said no but the card services person said yes, no problem to request this.. Not sure if it will work though. I have no problem with the minimum spend per month 😁

  • Nice deal

  • This or Citi signature?

pft… this deal is rubbish, citi all the way.

  • +1

Lol their catching on to the point chasers with higher spend and month limits.

    • It's more that interchange fees have been pared back throughout the CC market, so higher spends are being applied in order to subsidise the cost of the bonus points.

  • Will this work paying yourself via PayPal $1500 as a purchase?

  • Yeah, no way in hell doing this.

  • What is the minimum income and credit limit required for this card? I can’t seem to find it in T&Cs.. thanks in advance!

    • +1

$35k minimum income and a $6k minimum limit.

  • It says "Eligible Transaction means any purchase excluding … fares on public transport". I've never seen this as an ineligible transaction for other cards/reward programs. I've also never seen anyone talk about it even though it's a significant spending category I'd want to earn points on. Can anyone with a Premier Platinum confirm that for example an Opal auto top up would be an ineligible transaction? What if it was topped up at Woolworths?

    • +5

Can't speak about topping up with auto top up but if you topped up at Woolies the transaction the card sees is one at Woolies and categorised as supermarket spend.

    • Looks like tap on and tap off using the card?

  • When will the $199 fee be charged - After year 1?

    • No, in the first statement. The deal is generous, but not that generous.

Sell the qantas vouchers on ebay and this is a pretty good deal. annual fee under 100$ after you sell the vouchers

  • Applied for this one last week, let's see what happens.

  • Does anyone know if current Qantas American Express card holder is eligible for this?

    • Yes why not

      • Unsure if Qantas amex is anyway affiliated with this Qantas premier platinum .

Might apply for this to go with the Citibank.

Anyway know if an application got rejected, how long should one wait until reapplying again?

  • Rejected online - any point trying to change that by contacting them?

  • This one easy to get approval ?

    My Citi took awhile.
Just submitted my application for this one. Hope it goes through.
How many days would I get a response on average ?

    • Citi also does this card too, so going by what other people have said you’re probably gonna get rejected. Especially if you just got the Signature.

      • Maybe Citi might see I got approved for Citi card and also give me approval for this right away.

  • Approved in less than a day. Combined this with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/467570 , so I'll get close to 150 000 points. For someone who spends $1500 a month and more this is the best deal by far at the moment.

  • Does anyone know if the one month period is billing month or calendar month.

  • Hi all, first time getting a FF points reward card. I just received the Premier Platinum Card in the mail today, after reading the T&C's of eligble spend i am still a bit confused. Also I am wondering if there is anyway to pay my QLD, Drivers Licence renewal and Rego to make it eligible spend. Do these items actually count to either my $1500 monthly spend or towards gaining FF Points or none of the above? Please let me know. Greatly Appreciated!

    • I’ve never seen govt charges be allowed as part of eligible spend for any credit card and I’m in NSW so I am unaware of any work-arounds for Qld. However, I suppose you could buy a prepaid Visa card from Coles/Woolies/Wherever using the Qantas card and then use that card to pay your license and rego? Those cards usually have a $6 or $7 fee though.

    • This whole area is very confusing. FI's have differing conditions and it can even vary between cc within one FI. I have had CSO's tell me such a spend would not count but when I check the statement it did. I find using Post billpay helpful and even some billers state they do not take AMEX you can through Post billpay.
