Its cheaper then the V6 model.

For anyone looking at comparisons (like i currently am) i found this - https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-v6-vs-…

good price, and the v7 is much better than v6, in regards of cleaning the machine and empty the dust, and this bigw version has hepa after filter attached to the back of the head (blue part), another bonus.

    • how is this version different to the V7 motorhead or the v7 cordless stick?

    • This is the best of oldest model, avoid V6. Very easy to empty the bin in this model.

      • Is motorhead the new version and cord free (the big W version) the older? I can't find much info on the difference between the 2. Which is better? Should I hold out for the motorhead sale or buy this version?

        • Im comparing two base models, within the V6/V7, their different variants, one come with motorhead/attachment etc. You need to google the model number and find that out.

Dyson models are confusing… is this better or worse than V8?

    • -1

      11 > 10 > 9 > 8 > 7 , still confusing?

    • This is much lighter than V8 so went with this. Not worth the marginal power upgrade. One of the key issues is the attachments included.

  • Can anyone please clarify what the difference is between this (V7 Origin) and the V7 Animal.
Why is this $100 less normally, and $300 less at this pricing?

    • use google buddy, base model is same, one come with motorhead/attachment etc.

      • The V7 Origin does not exist as far as Dyson's website is concerned.
Hence I'm trying to clarify what attachments come with the Origin or if it's a Big W exclusive model.

The V7 Origin is on their website.

I agree it's not the easiest to work out the difference. Here's my guess:

          • V7 Origin has the extra filter at the back of machine
          • V7 Animal has the extra mini powerhead attachment
          • V7 Origin Animal gets the filter and the mini powerhead.
  • Hmmm, that extensive comparison on wothy1's link doesn't give the V7 a good rap for suction on hard floors.

      Glad someone read it :)

Yup i would of said just get the V6 but they are selling the V7 for less then the V6 so for the price and a few extra features the V7 would do. Personally waiting for a deal on the V10 since checking out the comparison and my needs (mainly hard floor)

      • haha. I head a read too so thanks.

What it doesn't clear up unfortunately is all the differences between the numerous sub-models (absolute, animal, slim, origin, motorhead blah blah).

Apparently the fluffy head is great for hard floors. But, I've just got the standard motorhead for my V8 and think it works fine everywhere. So much so that I don't think I'd bother changing heads even if I had the fluff.

        • It does its best half way down under accessories but they introduce different terms through the range like the older ones refer to classic which i believe is the Motorized under the new ones. Basically just the unit with one motorized head. The newer ones add things like +, torque drive etc to make it confusing when trying to compare older and newer gens.

I have the V6 and its seen better days, also needs a new motorized head which is $180 so may as well put that towards a new unit, just dont think the V7 is a step up enough especially since it rates worse on hard floors. V10 for me….if i can just find a deal…

          • @worthy1: V8 was a really good step up from our old DC44, and it's the only vac we use in a big house. V10 was an extra $400 at the time and I didn't think it was worth it.

  • Is the only difference between the V7 Origin and V7 Motorhead the fact the Motorhead comes with the Crevice tool?

Trying my best to see what the actual differences are but that's all I can work out so far. Any help would be appreciated!

    It's back in stock

  • Can any V7 Origin owners confirm if it comes with crevice tool? Appreciated! 🙏
