    Still using landlines at home?

    • I suppose that you can't get a mobile landline by definition?

Small shops and offices use this stuff still

You can use these with a cheap ATA to get on voip.

So $78 + $72 ATA will get you a basic 4 handset voip system.

4 cordless IP phones with base unit will cost you $400 at least.

        • Even voip is becoming obsolete. Mobile national calls are cheap now.

I suppose you could be plugging them into an ATA for VoIP.
Lots of ADSL and NBN modems have ATA ports.

      Must be useful for someone.

If it's on silent maybe your wife doesn't want to be disturbed 😉

Handy back in the day when you needed to chat with your girlfriend in private at home… Ahhh, the 90s.

    err what exactly are these?

Useful for online ordering where they insist on taking a phone number and you don’t want to give out mobile. Answer machine & incoming call ID also helpful for filtering.
Make sure you also register on Do Not Call to minimise spam calls

Unfortunately some of us are stuck on NBN-HFC… the only good from that is we get a free home phone line (without connection fee). So this is useful for me.
    Businesses use it as well.

    • What’s the issue with HFC. It’s arriving to my area soon

      • It's not fibre to the home. Uses foxtel lines instead. But you get a free home phone at least
