It really depends. Atmos is a sound format that adds vertical sound effect.
Atmos is definitely good when you have a proper set up and play media that has Atmos.
I got the k850 or whatever the first one was, Atmos is hardly noticeable so not worth getting if thats what you're after. Apart from that it sounds great for what it is except the rears are pretty quiet but not sure if they changed that on the newer systems.
Do you have atmos content going to your Soundbar? And does the Atmos blue light illuminate on your K850? Mine works really well.
Yes Atmos 4k Blu-ray content and blue lights on. I'm not saying it doesn't work, just saying it's hardly noticeable and definitely not like it's coming from the ceiling.
$1500 gets you a pretty good split setup which will sound better. My k850 was a refurb for $800 or something like that and that's about what I think these systems are worth.

I'm not sure where their $30 off came from, it's $100 off their current price and in all fairness, it's a $2000 product, $1500 is already discounted from RRP. Don't know if it's a "bargain" or not, I'd rather take the outgoing N950 model that can be picked up under $1000 on eBay.
JB sometimes have this on sale for much less than this?
It's a brand new model, it's not even listed on JB's website yet. The older N950 that it is replacing is still $1500 at JB at the moment.

Love my N950! Atmos content is excellent, the rears are great (not sure where this quiet rears thing came from, maybe fixed in firmware I already had?) and the whole system gets very loud! It's also very wife friendly and clean. Makes my room look bigger after moving away from separates.
However, not sure the q90r is an upgrade, it appears to be identical and is just a rebrand to align with the TV models? Adaptive sound sounds gimmicky, is software, and I'd probably disable it 😏

I love my K950 the atmos sounds absolutely phenomenal! Does anyone know if this has HDMI 2.1? No point upgrading my sound bar till it supports eARC with HDMI 2.1.
