Coles/Bi-Lo Weekly Specials 26 May - 1 June

401

Guess who's releasing their specials early? Coles/Bi-Lo are now releasing their catalog 2 days early, which means we get an overlap between the catalogs. This is great, and gives everyone a little more flexibility to pick the best specials every week! (thanks for the heads up patientvalue!). This week, much the same as Woolworths, Coles has the other soft drink manufacturer topping the charts, Coca-Cola Soft Drink Varieties 24 x 375ml, 2 for $34 (Save $13.90). Chorizo's from the deli are half price ($9.99/kg), prawns are on special (surprise!), Sara Lee have Frozen Pies for 50% off at $2.75. I might sneaks one of these in the trolley too, Toblerone Milk Chocolate 400g, $4.99 (Save $5, 50% off). Mmmm… giant chocolate weapon…. Have a great week everyone!

Typical! The majority of these items were heavily marked up before Costco & Aldi showed up the rip-offs, since these are bestsellers in their stores. There are 2 more new Costco stores opening soon in Sydney & Canberra. Not surprising that Coles have released their catalogs earlier (and they & Woolworths seem to be scaring manufacturers into only supplying Costco with even bigger bulk packs to frighten customers away). The big two will use every nasty predatory tactic to shut the competition down. Well, at least ripoff Australia finally gets a bit of a break thanks to Costco… 50% off so many products were unheard of, previously.

How can they have a Metamucil special without a corresponding special on 'paper'?

    The horror!

Australian Large Cooked Tiger Prawns - From the De 1kg, $23 (Save $9.99)

Went to coles to buy some prawns and they were not on special. Seems your list is very innacurate missing some obvious specials like the T-bones and including specials which do not exist like the prawns.

    • You didn't go to "Coles Express" did you? They don't honor weekly specials unfortunately. And not sure where you saw T-Bone specials, I couldn't see them in the catalog?

      • -1

No I went to Coles at Carringbah. The online catalog that I can see has no tiger prawns on special so it makes me think that different areas have different specials even though the manager at carringbah insisted that all stores have the exact same catalog and specials each week.

      • my brochure also doesn't have large cooked tiger prawn, on page 20, i found imported small cooked vannamei prawns $9kg

    • And you didn't think of grabbing a catalogue from in-store to check? Yeah, easier to just come back here and neg right?

      • -1

I did that and the catalog in store was identical to the 1 I can see online (which has no special advertised for tiger prawns) So I am now convinced that different locations must have different specials/catalogs.

        • you should upload the front page of it

edit: Let me rephrase…. can you upload the front page of it for us?

  • Even @23 it's a ripoff anyway. Not worth more than $14/kilo.
also I don't understand why people buy cooked prawns. They are generally flavourless and full of poopoo. It takes a few mins to cook prawns properly. anyway that's another story

    • and full of poopoo

That's ok it comes out the same way

  • I went to the local coles today, but there was no special sign near Pauls Double Thick Custard. I then picked up a catalogue and can't for the life of me find it in there. Can someone tell me if it's at their local coles and/or what page of the catalogue it' in?

    • I couldn't see it in the catalogue either…
