Can anyone comment on how this compares with Samsung QVO, thanks

      https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crucial-bx500-ssd,5377-…

      TLDR:

The BX500 family is priced competitively at $0.15- to $0.22-per-GB, but there are better options for only a few dollars more.
It appears the viability of lower-tier products has nearly vanished at these low capacities.
The BX500 would need to have a significantly smaller price tag for us to recommend it.
Even if you are pinching pennies, we would recommend the WD Blue 3D, MX500, or Samsung 860 EVO.
All those drives boast longer warranties, greater performance, and endurance at competitive price points.

They are asking about the QVO though? Its cause the QVO is a similar price through the comp alliance deal + cashback. Both would be on a 3 year warranty so it comes down to the hardware.

Edit: I think the QVO has higher endurance based on some stats (240 TBW vs 360)

For me, unless you were hitting those figures (which I expect a lot of people won't be) id stick with TLC if costs are basically equal. More mature tech. These qvo drives are the first gen….but that's strictly my opinion. Could go either way.

@incipient: QVO is about $130, Evo is about $160 (after cashback). The extra $30 is worth it imo, especially if its your primary drive.

  • Imma put one in my PS4 Pro.
