Another ebay deal which doesn't compare to the previous ones, but appears it will have more seller inclusions than the current 10% off one. 20% off a 3rd item (lowest value of the 3) on a purchase of AU $100.00 or more, up to AU $200.00 off. This appeared under the "vouchers" column on "my ebay".

This isn't too bad…. if my maths is right…equates to 10% off if u buy two identical items …

Correct me if I am wrong

Edit….oh, 20% off 3rd….now that's complicated. Any maths guru here care to share ur calculations.

    • Simply not worth it. Basically 7% off I guess

    • +2

I thought it was buy one full priced and get 20% off the second, but it's buy 2 at full price and get 20% off the third. That equates to a pathetic 6.67% off.

    • +2

6.66% off if you buy 3 identically priced items.

Practically the way to figure it out just take an easy number, $100, multiply by 3 = $300.
Take 20% off one of the items = $80, bringing the total down to $280.
      Total saving = $20 / $300 (*100) = 6.66%

      • +2

Or just divide the discount by the number of items that have to be purchased. 20 / 3 = 6.6667. If it was 20% off the second item then it's 20 / 2 = 10%. This is assuming you buy identically priced items. If they're different priced then add them all up then deduct the percentage off the lowest item to find the true discount value.

ps maybe put in get "third" item 20% off, as i thoght it was buy 2 get the second one cheaper

    • I worded it the same as ebay did, but come to think of it that's not saying much as I don't actually think very highly of them as a service provider. Their terrible customer service support and their deals which have literally become a waste of time (get to checkout, not all items eligible for discount, then may not meet minimum spend amount) are a let down.

The "buy two get 15% off the 2nd item" deal is better, and still current.

This "20% off" deal seems like it applies to any three items but still only almost worth it if all 3 identical priced items.

    • Yep, better discount and lower minimum spend.

  • +1

    lol try harder eBay

  • Removed my vote…..not good enough from Ebay
    Waiting for site wide

I know Ebay isn't as generous as before…..but damn I am spending sh*t loads on Ebay still

  • +1

Hey ebay…heres a tip… try to get us to buy just 1 item ….

  • +1

Buy two FULL PRICE items, get the third at 20% off… which is a 6.6% maximum discount

  • Interesting that OzPlaza are excluded. They almost always included in the 20% deals.

  • +4

    eBay's next sale:

Buy 2 items minimum $200 each, get 3rd item 1% off, plus a gift card for 1% off your next purchase over $1000 if used between 4am and 5am AEST.

    • +2

      Only for ebayplus members*

  • And the list of excluded suppliers grows even longer too.

  • These deals are just getting sad
