  These speakers are designed by Andrew Jones. So they would be better than most average speakers in the specs.

  I picked up a number of years back at HN for around same price but has 12inch 200 watt sub.

  Yes, I was on a tight budget and did a lot of searching before I found these. Was about to buy Polk S50 pack but thought this is a better deal at less than half the price.

  if you have to have 5.1 I can't imagine you'd ever get better sound at a better price than this.

  considering this is very much entry level though, I'd be more tempted to spend the whole $900 on a 2.1 setup.

  I have the floor standers and they are great. This is a great package for someone starting a home theater system.
