  • I have a powered 4 port USB 3.0 Hub from Amazon. My wireless keyboard/mouse receiver is attached to one of the 4 ports. If I were to attach a portable hard disk to one of the 3 remaining ports and do a file transfer between it and my PC, the mouse movement gets affected — it becomes sluggish/erratic.

Will getting this hub "fix" that problem?

    • Why, just try plug it into your computer to see if it still happens to diagnose the cause, buying a new one wouldn’t solve the problem, also its it plug into anything peripherals such as hard drives or USB, cause USB output only provides 5w 1amp max not accounting for resistance.

      • Curious to know if the unit I bought from Amazon was defective (it's AmazonBasics branded btw)— thus the temptation of getting a new one.

    • Have the same problem. Mine is unpowered. Wondering if a powered one will fix this.

      • It should, plugging in hard drive doesn’t work before, but after buying an orico transparent USB hub (looks pretty mad) I can plug 3 hard drive and 1 USB(don’t have any more HD’s)

    • USB3.0 can cause wireless interference - not just wifi but also keyboard/mouse receivers which operate on the same frequency: https://www.pcmag.com/commentary/315173/wireless-witch-the-t…

So the only way you can mitigate it is to use a short USB extension cable to move the receiver away.

  • Can I use this on my Samsung TV to have multiple USBs plugged in and readable?

    • Yes works ok my Samsung. What year/model do u have?

  • Keep in mind that there is a max 3A for this unit. So charging more than two phones isn't great.

    • There is only one charging port. so if you want to charge 2 or more devices with USB 3.0 data ports, the charging speed will be slow

      • So charging one (new) phone at 2.4A means that you have 0.6A left to power a HDD, DVD burner, etc? Given an external HDD takes up to 1A, and my external DVD burner uses 0.9A @5V, does that mean I can't charge a phone and use a HDD or burn a DVD at the same time? Or does this unit just reduce the current to the phone port?

This is a genuine query, as I currently have an mBeat Gorilla, which delivers 2.4A/5W to each port, but the unit is bulky and has a standard 240V power cord that is also bulky, so wouldn't mind something more portable.

P.S. "2.It comes 5V 3A power adapter. Do NOT make the total of current over 3A when charging your multiple devices."
