      Irrelevant, completely different power supply, your Amazon purchased unit won't last a second in Australia.

      I recently had a VSX-LX503 shipped to SA from Amazon US but the shipping is quite expensive and you need a large step-down transformer (which I already had). Much cheaper than buying here but not practical for most people due to the voltage issue.

      You did not include Amazon's shipping and import fees and the cost of a step down transformer. Warranty is unlikely to be provided by local distributors for the imported products. At Amazon Germany, both products are currently listed at €520.32 and €525 excluding shipping costs but they don't ship here. You could purchase the products from Computer Universe. However, excluding the expensive shipping charges and GST, both products are listed at €549 and €599.
