    Both of mine don't charge unless I'm supposed to leave them charged for 12hr.

      Just that the 1 page manual inside stated "Power Supply: Rechargeable Li-Ion battery", and also talks about recharging the battery.

      No worries, it's a freebie, can just use them with the laptop USB or battery pack.
