    The code does not work!

  • Awesome Deal, I got one for $900 as a Friend works for another company and got 25% off from Dyson ($1200) Awesome deal
had it for almost 2 weeks now, boy its awesome

    • Get this or replace battery on my V8 for $85?

      • +1

Isn't the battery on your V8 costing $85 free? V8 Comes with two years warranty and that incluedes free battery, as I got mine recently!

        • I have until August this year for my warranty then, I noticed it's not lasting as long anymore, the battery cuts out just before I can cover the whole house on my V8.

          • @posthex: Same with me, I was facing the same issue for the last couple of days until my battery died two days back. Contacted Dyson team, they immediately dispatched battery (costing $85) for free at my postal address.

            • +1

@jaym84: Cool I just called them and am expecting a callback in "100 minutes"! They must be super busy or seriously low on staff.

      • you definitely need "flexible crevice tool"

      • +3

battery on your V8… because… by the time your battery does in 2 years there will be a V13 and the V8 is still an excellent machine… esp. since your battery is still in warranty :)

    • Awesome!

  • What is the difference with absolute+?

    • +1

Absolute Pro comes with extra accessories: mattress tool, flexible crevice tool and extension hose

      • +1

But only available through dyson direct.

  • Just got V10 in Dec 18.. they release new versions so quickly. Hard to keep the Mrs happy.so tempted to get one and sell the V10. Best vaccum period.

    • I have to say I also didn't expect the V10 to be superseded so quickly. I guess as hand stick vacuums have taken off in the last few years, DYSON wants to keep up with the competition for risk of getting left behind.

      • +3

Yeah it was like just around 6monthish since it was released.
Soon there may be a new one every 6-8months like the iPhone's. V11s soon to release in August. With wifi built in lol

        • +1

V11s have already been released. In fact, refer to the deal above.

          • @naman8913: He's making a joke about the next product being a V11S, like Apple's naming convention over the past few yeara :)

    • +1

Just taking a page from the Apple/smartphone playbook really. They have been for a while anyway, priced like the Apple of vacuums.

FYI I have a couple of Dyson products, just not the latest and greatest. Like below, I could never justify this kind of coin for a vacuum or smartphone anymore.

    • It's not the best price it has been, with the Absolute V8 being as low as $455 2 years ago…

However, I have a V6 animal and it still works amazingly so V8 would have to be even better than that!

The V8 is also 400g lighter than the V11, so a bit of an advantage there, too.

      • Dyson V7 Motorhead handstick and V7 Cordfree, what's the different?

    • Does anyone know what difference the "Origin" model has over Absolute and Animal?

I can't seem to find the model described online anywhere

  • 20% more suction than the Dyson Cyclone V10TM vacuum

A V10 has 150aw in maximum mode which means this should have 180aw.

A Miele C3 has 250aw so these have about 70% of the suction compared to a full size vacuum.

But you only have a few minutes to use it before the battery goes flat.

    • +1

Pretty much sum it up. And Dyson don't provide an extra battery to swap when you run flat on batterry. Plus this dyson cost 1K and you still might not be able to vacume your whole house in one batterry cycle

      • You’d still need a Meile to suck up the 30% of dirt and dust that the V11 is leaving behind.

    • +1

Eh.. probably best to compare it to a corded dyson or cordless miele vacuum if you want to compare apples to apples more fairly. Each type of device would have its pros and cons.

Having a power brush + ok vacuum power is comparable to having higher vacuum power only.

I have both miele c3 and dyson v6, each has its specific best case use. Prefer the dyson cordless if i dont need a deep clean because of the convenience.

      • Yes that is all true but Dyson have specifically said they are now targeting corded vacuums with the V10 and now the V11 and have abandoned the cord.

So I guess Dyson is now asking for a comparison with the Miele (corded)?

        • +1

Yeah I saw the CEO and founder make that same proclaimation for the v11 in the advert. I guess with that, probably have to get one of the reviewers (vacuum wars on yt) to do a stress test to compare the v11 system to a corded vac system.

Deep clean test like the sand grains in carpet or cracks between floor boards. From recall v11 did the best when compared to other cordless vacs and better still than the previous v10 (note: the v11 has a bigger and newer designed battery (slightly heavier) that has a supposed longer shelf life).

      • +1

Eh.. probably best to compare it to a corded dyson

A corded Dyson Cinetic is 230aw.

I used the Miele because Dyson have said they are going all cordless and I hadn't looked to see if you can still buy a corded Dyson.

However Dyson claim you get "Full-size suction power". They don't compare to a specific model and as the Miele is supposed to be very good it's still a fair comparison.

  • +10

Sorry, but personally near 1000 for a handheld vacuum is bit overkill .

Would never spend that much on a vacuum.
They won't survive long when xiaomi opens up a store in Aus. Or other cheap Chinese brand with relatively good performance starts rolling in

    • Xiaomi sells a comparable product they've developed themselves?

    • +4

Disagree, many people will still buy dyson regardless.

It's like Apple vs Chinese phones
. Chinese phones far better bang for your buck, but plenty still buy Apple!

      • +1

        Yeh….
Some people buy it for the brand.
And obviously the warranty and support behind it.but….we looking at 1 5to2 years before it dies

      • Chinese phones don’t run iOS. This Dyson, however, sucks the same air as any other vacuum.

        • -1

It sucks the same air however costs at least 2x as much and sucks 30% less.

    • But with the wrong brand of vacuum, you will not have face in the community. Even the gwai loe will laugh at you

      :D

  • +2

…too many rich folks here on Ozbargain now :-)

    • +2

You could say "a penny saved is a penny earned", & thanks to OZbargain we earn a lot of pennies if that quote holds true.

Though I sometimes think Mary Kimodo would slap us all silly if she knew how much 'stuff' we buy :)

  • +3

wait a few weeks and buy V20

    • Yep, that's what I've been doing for a couple of years and still using our DC 59

  • Anyone know if I can use an existing myer gift card with this?

    • Instore myer gift card?? Highly doubt it

      • Yep, I have a returns card with credit. Thought it might be possible as this deal is on the official myer ebay. Money is money.

    • +2

No. This purchase is through eBay which means only PayPal, Credit Cards are accepted.

  • Does this thing do your laundry?

  • How would you compare this to Dyson V8 for the price of $479.80 ?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dyson-V8-Origin-handstick-va…

  • almost one grand for a vacuum???

  • $1000,this vacuum better suck up all bacteria and viruses in the air for me

  • Dyson V7 Motorhead handstick and V7 Cordfree, what's the different?

  • +2

Based on reading all 200+ V11 reviews on Productreview.com.au and all the V10 reviews I bought the V10 Absolute+ this week in the Costco deal.
The V11 is 400g heavier (3100g) than the V10 (2700g) due to a larger battery pack and larger barrel. The V10 is already heavier than the V8 etc. On the V11 reviews basically every other person complains about the added weight and longer main body (especially in the absence of the flexible hose in most V11 bundles - can't use in car footwells etc.). On the other hand people like the longer run time and the battery countdown timer on the higher V11 versions. Also for the non-Absolute V11 people complain that the new torque head is not a full replacement for the fluffy hard floor head.
Based on this I bought the V10, but the V11 at $960 is not bad if you can handle the weight, size and buy the flexible hose separately (or get the Pro model from Dyson.com.au)
I believe the V10 with the new axial barrel and better power is in a decent value sweet spot. I didn't want to pay close to $1000 for a vac without a trigger lock and replaceable battery - things most people complain about but Dyson is not addressing. Maybe V20 will have these things and smaller/lighter replaceable batteries to get the weight back down, at $2000 :)

    • Keep in mind any reviews there marked Ambassador Review means they received theirs for free on the condition they write an unbiased, comprehensive review. Hmmm.

  • Too many rich folks here at ozbargain. Some people out there are struggling to meet their daily needs and some are talking $1000 & plus in vacuum cleaners…Hmmm… Interesting!!

    • makes perfect sense.
people struggling arent going to be saving money on stuff because they arent going to be buying stuff worth saving money on.
people with money looking to save money obviously come to sites like this to save money.

  • 1k for a vacuum is ridiculous. Yes I am sure it's the best on the planet, but gee it's a lot of coin.

  • Ours arrived today, just opened it up. The old v6 and the xiaomi robot have been letting us down. Pretty much filled the canister with half our golden retriever in the first 30 seconds. Best fun with the Mrs in ages.
