Lucky wife. Expensive gift for a birthday…

      • +1

Most adults can budget for expensive gifts every now and again.

        • -1

Most either get these on plans or credit card it, or both…

  • +1

how many ebay gift cards can i add per transaction?

    • If I remember, you can apply 8 codes, so 7 vouchers + the PLOT10 code.

    • +6

      You don't?

Guess you’re still in high school. Once you get older you’ll look back at these kind of comments and shake your head and have a giggle.

          • +2

@Gerry H: There’s a reason why most successful businesses choose iPhones for their employees over Android based phones. I’ve used Android since 1.5 too, so I know both O/S’s quite well. Both have their advantages but in terms of security and reliability, iPhone is king and that’s why I currently use it. Next year I’ll go back to Android because I like to switch. To think only sheep get iPhones shows you know very little or are just very immature.

    • Nah, that’s why Apple has high resale value you brainlet

    • +2

I have never ever in my life paid apple 1cent. Not ever iTunes or a USB cable NADA. And for some reason I'm somewhat proud about it 🤔

Q - How much is your POS worth 2 years after purchase?
      A - Nothing.

      • -1

In 2015 I bought a lumia 950xl for $900 after tax and selling the supplied docking station, it ended up costing me $480. Until almost 2 years, I went back to jb hi-fi and said it's super buggy and they have me a brand new HTC 10 as an exchange in kind. Been using this HTC 10 until now. Top that with $10-$15/month sim cards, after tax all that cost me a mere $200/year just on phone overall. I'm sure most spend that in just 3months…

  • I waited and waited, but the person I was buying it for wanted Silver, so had to pay through the nose a few weeks ago. Colour was more important than waiting to save 15% sadly

    • +2

      re-evaluate your investment

      cut the loss if necessary

    • I wanted silver too, was lucky to grab the last one from today's deal…

      • Silver is good because you can polish the stainless steel frame with metal polish. Any scratches on the other colours and you’re out of luck.

        • -1

Same with cars, but people still buy black even IN AUSTRALIAN HOT CLIMATE (change;)

          • @taki: You drive a delorean?

  • +2

Decent deal. Paid the same amount back in December 2018

  • +3

Nice phone, but hard to see it as a bargain at that insane price.

I'm clinging to my old iPhone as long as Apple updates the software.

    • +2

Good idea. 2020 May see a 5G iPhone so you may as well get reamed for that.

    • The RRP of this model is $1,629, that's a ~$300 saving.

What would you consider to be a bargain? $500 off? Or even $1,000?

      • +3

yes, I understand why the deal was posted.
But good bargain hunters know to ignore RRP,and look at the actual price.
Though Apple is a rare exception where RRP is the normal price.

What if the RRP was 1 million dollars, and there was a discount of $100k. Would that be a bargain? What if it was 90% off?

It comes down to what you consider the competition. If you only buy the one brand, then it is a bargain. Otherwise, it is just a discount that falls short of the competition.

Apple is great and all, but I can't see how they will maintain market share at these prices.
iPad is still dominating the tablet market, but under $500! And worth every cent.

        • What if the RRP was 1 million dollars, and there was a discount of $100k. Would that be a bargain? What if it was 90% off?

It isn't, so that's an unrealistic scenario.

It comes down to what you consider the competition.

If someone is looking to buy a certain make/model smartphone, whether that by an iPhone or android equivalent, they've already (or at least should have already) considered the alternatives.

We get it, Apple products are expensive, but I've said it before and I'll most likely continue repeating it; some people actually do see value in them, so please give the predictable comments a rest.

          • -7

@magic8ballgag: People pay 100s for 'special' alcohol, etc. But that is special only in your brain. Apple is overvalued iCult image distortion. You can get 2x the value from 1/2 priced Chinese smartphones. No logic with cult items.

            • +2
              • @Hybroid: What RU hiding? Celebrities have no privacy & enjoy life. Apple has RETINA marketing. They SEE your every step in their walled garden. ;) Regarding environment, fake too. Their devices are very unergonomic - Reflective Fixed screens, hard to upgrade, missing functionality (too restricted for young/curious minds)…
PS. Samsung KNOX has business-grade security in unmatched functionality pack.

            • +2

@taki: Gosh whats with people stamping Apple users iCult or iSheep. Some people still buy Pepsi than Coke, that doesn't make them Pepsheep…. There's this thing called preference if you never heard of it…

              • @John: I have no dependences on any cult product. I enjoy freedom from my OWN analysis & prefer Business continuity. Even Apple does not want single supplier, but wants you to rely on only 1??? "You can fool only some all the time."
                A: Motorola (Lenovo) - 1st (best)?

      • 26.4% on Excellent S10e 128GB? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/449058

  • anyone know if can i price match this price at officeworks?

    • normally don't price match Ebay codes IIRC, but happy to be wrong

  • They have added one "gold" colour, if anyone is interested.

  • Interesting…

Please note: To use dual sim functionality on this phone requires carrier support. Please check that your carrier supports dual sim with this phone.

    SIM Card TypeDual SIM, 4G/4G

Do they mean sim and esim or is actually dual sim? States its AU stock which has thrown me off a little.

Do they actually provide a tax invoice as I’m going overseas next weekend and considering purchasing.

    • +1

I don't think any iPhone has dual sim card support, so it must be a sim and esim

    • They shipped my item in a couple of hours and emailed me the tax invoice (a pdf file). It includes their abn, tax amount, my name/address, so I guess that will be fine for TRS claim.

    • any australian telcos use eSims yet?

    • +1

Our telcos don't support e-SIM yet so we can't use it for OZ numbers.

However, that doesn't prevent you from using e-SIM overseas as mentioned here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/423496.

  • OOS:( only 256gb avail.

  • Hopefully they get more stock
