      I specifically picked a comparison server in Sydney because it's not really fair to compare to overseas servers — especially for gaming servers where low latency is especially important.

      That said, yes, at the moment Hetzner seems to have the best performance/price.

      One thing I did miss in my comparison is the OVH game servers don't seem to have IPMI (or KVM/IP), unlike their other servers. Or at least it's not mentioned on the page.

        No idea, out of my price range. I was tempted by the recent OVH Sydney DO32 deal but no SSD option by the time I got around to it.

      Wow, $66.64 AUD per month, for the entire box! That's pretty good……running on consumer hardware……unlimited traffic too, whereas this is limited to 5TB….

      Could host an image hotlinking/sharing site on this and you'll be good to go! hahahaha

      ….but then again, shouldn't you be using server hardware for server stuff, like XEON from Intel and whatever AMD's equivalent is and such?

        Xeon's really only come into there own with high input/output, most server cpu's do not get stressed under personal loads.

        Unless latency is important to you, eg. for gaming, overseas servers are always the best.

          @Dlite: …what about ECC ram? Only server grade CPUs support that and you need them if you want ECC ram…..or what if you want more than the max amount of ram a consumer hardware can support? Like 1TB for example to host like idk, 1000 severs under that?

          Isn't ECC ram important for a server, especially if running 24/7?

        it’s dedicated not virtualised, so consumer cpu is fine, if you wanted to start virtualisizing on it yourself then you would need to decide if a consumer cpu is suitable enough for the performance you want or you want a xeon.

      What would you say your Pro's are versus OVH? Not to down talk anyone, but they seem like a larger company. Naturally a customer would have trust for you for being Aussie, but trust for them because they are huge
