Yes, but note as usual Optus has crippled these so they will not work properly on Telstra.
The 850MHz 3G band has been disabled in firmware.Optus and Voda networks only.
Prompted by your comment and using the MTK Engineering Mode app i checked out my two Alcatel 4G U5's, and the Vodafone-branded one has 850MHz (UMTS Mode WCDMA-CLR-850 & LTE Mode Band 5) while the Optus-branded one does not.
Might be a nano-SIM as well in the Alcatel Shine Lite.
A quick eBay search would find you an unlock code for around $1.5
Great deal, phone has a good review here
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.whistleout.com.au/MobilePho…would it work on OVO without unlocking (being an Optus piggyback)
.Great price, decent spec phone.
Thanks OP. Bought one.
OOS Online.
Close , re-open, it came back for me…
I wish to buy this for a not so well to do person in Fiji. Can someone advise how I can get this unlocked pls. They have 3G Vodaphone network there. I am in Melbourne. Thx in advance.
*Vodafone
Lucky you were on the spot or no one would have had a clue what they were talking about, ay.
Buy phone.
Buy unlock code from ebay $1.50, search 'optus sleek unlock' or item 292646380713.
Insert non-optus sim in phone.
Enter unlock code when it asks.
Done.
one review I found stated that it is an Alcatel Shine Lite, which I then looked up on gsmarena;

too may hit and miss results for my liking.
.Non-removable Li-Ion 2460 mAh battery
In this world of disposable phones, I dont think this matters to many people any more
I generally agree, however removable batteries allow me to totally isolate the phone from power.
Is it good idea to buy this phone for fake location 7 eleven apps as this phone is using Oreo?
Marshmallow
Oh yes, sorry my mistake, thank yoi for correcting :)
So the OS on this phone is not upgradeable??
Bought this for $79 6 months back as a back-up. Been using it considerably for the last few month. It's pretty good actually.
Its not particularly stable on Bluetooth or wifi - but it's ok. A restart sorts it out.
It's ridiculous that a $69 can do so well actually. It has really has put me off spending much on a phone. But still I am looking forward to getting a new phone.
Is that on the Optus Network?
Easy to unlock?
