Hi.
Came across this deal on the Telstra website.
$69 per month - Unlimited Talk and Text, 20gb data per month - 24 month contract
Hi.
Came across this deal on the Telstra website.
$69 per month - Unlimited Talk and Text, 20gb data per month - 24 month contract
I don't believe this is the case, the $20/month being taken off the handset repayment portion, since the other colours cost $89/month for the same plan/inclusions
The credit has already been added. Comes to $69 per month.
That's pretty nice. If only it included piece of mind data…
Nice deal
$69 for last year's phone? How is that a good deal?
Agreed, I don't think this is that great a deal.
Show me a better deal with Telstra network or are you just talking S…t?
You are better off grabbing this deal from JB Hi fi for the P30 and selling the Sonos one to break even for the $199 upfront fee.
80gb of data and you get the newest release phone.
You can also claim trs on the phone to make it cheaper.
Absolutely. Having owned an S9 then the Mate 20 Pro I can guarantee that the P30 will blow the S9 out of the water in the camera stakes.
@C0mbat: As per my calculations on my post, with TRS and selling the Sonos one and paying using discount gift cards, the P30 pro can be had for under $80 per month.
No brainer if you ask me.
Only thing the P30 lacks for less than $65 per month is wireless charging.
Maybe for new customers, but for existing this deal is good.
I love it when these ozbargainers mention TRS as it's a common everyday thing (read: it's a given) that everyone does- it's not, so stop factoring it in to justify why you think a deal is or isn't worth it.
You can also claim the amount if you have an ABN and use it for business, but not everyone (read: TRS) can do so.
@orbital: Same with discounted gift cards, cashrewards, price beating, price matching at some place that you can get AMEX cashback for, and reselling some free gift. It's a lot of hacks to make something seem cheap enough to compare.
If the original price has no hacks involved, then the proposed alternative needs to be compared without hacks.
Having said that, Woolies had the S10 with ~10GB a month for $65 and I think that's a better deal. Less data, but newer phone, and I'd rather have that. Also if you preordered you get free buds priced at $249 that you can also resell for $200.
Telstra prepaid is $30/month (27gb). So you are paying $39/m month for 24 months For the phone, or $936.
Seems a lot for an S9
And you're locked into the plan and phone for two years. It's a a good deal compared to most of their plans, but a bad deal if you can afford to buy upfront.
@macrocephalic: Where is the best place to buy outright.
All the current deals on here for around $800 which people are saying is not good value
On telstra and for existing customers it doesn't get much better than this. In Dec last year the Family & Friends deal was the same phone for the same price but with 30gb + piece of mind.
If you need/want to be n the telatra network and you aren't a new customer this is a great deal.
In this world of notches and the slowing rate of phone innovation, this is still a great pick.
They are still innovating. Foldable for phone example. It's just going to cost over $2000…
Otherwise the end game seems to be a no bezel phone. There's been an obsession with this goal over the past few years. I feel they've reached that already and they don't have many targets left to hit. Phones are as good as you expect them to be.
You think thats bad, Floptus has the S8 for $65 still listed LOL
Throw in a galaxy watch and I'm sold
Seriously? Is this an offer… now?
I got the S9+ (yes the + model, not the regular) for $59/Month (not $69) | 20GB | 24 months @ Optus exactly one year ago.
Not everyone can get these deals when they come up, especially when you are still mid contract and therefore can't take advantage of such great offers.
Your timing was perfect.
If that deal was still available today, I'd jump on it.
Not everyone wants optus as it doesn't work as well in most rural areas so not really comparable.
Optus in general is a horrible deal they have shit all reception.
You couldn't pay me to be on optus…
Even if optus gave me a free s9 and a free contract it would still be a bad deal. I'm not exaggerating. I love on the outskirts of one of the largest regional cities in Australia and telstra is the only carrier with coverage in my suburb. So all you city is fan boys can gloat all you like about your cheap plans but for everyone who doesn't live metro, this is a good deal, there is no question.
Even if optus gave me a free s9 and a free contract it would still be a bad deal. I'm not exaggerating.
Yes you are. If they gave you a free S9 with no strings attached, you would either sell the S9, or use it and join a different carrier.
don't optus lock their phones to their network?
@wombat81: I don't know. But if that's the case, I would still take the freebie phone either to sell or give to someone who can use it.
@wombat81: I had an S4, S7 and S8 on contract from optus and none of the phones were locked. The phones do have optus branding (Optus flash screen on startup and shutdown)
Pixel 3 XL 59pm 30gb data with optus 24m plan.
yeah but it's optus…
Didn't that deal expire yesterday?
My wife just upgraded to this deal. A few things to note.
1. It's only the blue colour that is on sale. Black, purple and gold are still at their regular prices.
2. Piece of Mind data is not included but you can activate it for $10 per month. It can then be deactivated the following month so you don't have ongoing costs.
3. You have to order via the website above. The chat consultant won't do this deal for you.
4. The chat consultant told me there is "limited stock". She wouldn't go into how limited, though.
Can you confirm if Cashback or cashrewards applied to this deal as well???
No idea, sorry. Don't use them.
You should mention that it is $69 plan with an additional $20/month credit- bringing it to $49/month.
